This dataplate is found on the rear edge of the driver's side door. It says D5 for the paint color. So it was originally Acapulco Blue (code D) with a blacked-out hood (the number 5 after the D).

Red 1969 Mach 1 Mustang fastback owned by Mark Houseman from Hahira, Georgia. Mark adds, "I just purchased this 1969 Mustang 'R' code 428 Cobra Jet Ram Air 4-speed. It has 41071 original miles. The previous owners had it since it was less than a year old, almost a 'one owner' car. It is bone stock but had a paint/color change when it was a year old. Some where along the line the interior was changed from white to black (I don't
understand why anyone would do that.)"
Here is what Mark's Mustang looked like when he found it.
The plates where dated 1986.
This was the first time the Mach 1 was moved in years.

Mark Houseman owns this yellow 1969 Mustang fastback. Mark tells us more, "I purchased it from the original owner(s) about two years ago. It has 69k one owner miles with a 392cid 2-barrel engine and an automatic transmission. It is completely stock and original with the exception of a re-paint color change in 1983. It was put in a warehouse till three years prior to my purchasing this gem. The beautiful green color can be seen where some of the yellow is flaking. I have a Marti Report which states it came with the 'Sports Appearance Group with Tape Stripe, Exterior Décor Group, Color Keyed Racing Mirrors, and Wheel Covers.' I have the original keys as well as the original title. The interior is really nice and again, totally original. The body on this car is incredible and for the most part rust free. I do think that there was some work done on the left front corner/fender years ago. This car also has the factory installed hood scoop with the turn signals. This would make an easy Mach I 'recreation/clone'. I put a new gas tank, filter/sending unit, complete tune up, and rebuilt the carburetor."

Here is a shot of the black interior.
The backseat folds down.
Here is a shot of the instruments.

This is a 1969 Mustang Mach-1 fastback painted in New Lime - a very light chade of green. Actually, it's paint code 25 which is '2' for the New Lime paint and '5' for the blackout hood treatment. This one has a hood tach which is a rare option for 1969.

New Lime 1969 Mach-1 Mustang fastback, left front view. This car looks great with all the black accents, the interior is black too.

I like there rear window louvers. They should have them for all fastback Mustangs of all years - even the coupes of today.
Here is a close-up of the Ford hood tach available on the 1969 Mustangs as an option. Both the hood tach and rear window louvers were added by the first owner.
The engine is a 351ci 2v 250hp V8 engine.

The interior is black. The first owner changed out the transmission from an automatic to a 4-speed manual.
These fastbacks had tiny trunks when the rear seat was in use. Only 5.3 cubic feet versus the 9.8 cubic feet of the hardtop.

Before the production of the 1969 Mustang Shelby, Carrol Shelby's company created three experimental prototypes. This is one of those three 1969 Shelby Proto-types. It has a 351 Cleveland engine which was used to develop fuel injection and a Cougar Eliminator dash. Other options include air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, tilt steering wheel, Ram Air engine, and an automatic transmission.
