This 1969 Mach 1 Mustang fastback was driven by drag racer, Jim McCormick. He set many NHRA records for the Fastest Factory Street Stock with this car. It ran 10 second quarter miles. The car still has the original engine and running gear used to set those records.

It has Magna Flow chrome mufflers with 3inch stainless exhaust pipes. It wears a set of Drag Lites rims with 29x45x15 Mickey Thompsons in the front and 9.00x30x15 Firehawk wrinkle walls in the rear.

This is a Groovy Green 1969 Limited Edition 600 Mustang fastback. All numbers match on this one and it has Magnum 500 wheels, automatic transmission, and the F-code 302ci V8 engine. The 1969 Mustang Limited Edition 600 was a special spring 1969, promotion in the Philadelphia area. 508 cars were produced for this promotion which was 92 cars short of the 600 planned. The cars were available in either Flower Power Red (Ford special paint code
WT5185) or Groovy Green (
MX8241928). They came in both hardtop and fastback body styles, hood scoops, pin stripes, and many of the hardtops came with a black vinyl top. Each of the cars received a special Limited Edition 600 decal, which is located under the Mustang emblems on the front fenders.

The original door data tag shows the blank paint code indicating that the special paint was the first paint and applied by the factory, a DSO of 16 (ordered in Philadelphia), and under a special order number 2788 (one of several special order numbers documented as being used by this special model).
