Blue 1965 Mustang convertible equipped with power steering, power disc brakes, power top, front bench seat, styled steel wheels 5-speed manual transmission, and an A-code 289ci 4-barrel V8 engine. This is not a 1965 Ford Mustang production paint but looks great on this car. What is unique about this car is the front bench seats, most Mustangs were ordered with bucket seats.

The hood is real shiny. It reflects well.

Blue 1965 Mustang convertible with a GT style rear valance.

The convertible top is black in color. The boot (snap on cover when the top is down) is colored to match the interior. In this case black, like the top. But the convertible top could be a different color.
This 1965 Mustang convertible has a front bench seat instead of bucket seats. It was a rare option in 1965.
Another shot of the front bench seat. Does anyone remember driving a car with one of these? The whole bench moves forward and backward when adjusted. This is a tricky feat when you have a passenger. You have to coordinate rocking back and forth to adjust the seat. If you don't, the seat doesn't move. I remember saying, "We are going to move forward. Ready. One, two, three, go." Then I'd rock forward, the passenger backward, then alternate - we'd go no where. Pretty funny, actually.
This car has what appears to be a 5-speed manual transmission. At least that is the shift pattern on the shifter knob.
This is a 225 horsepower 289ci 4-barrel V8 engine. It is the middle rated V8 of the three V8 engines offered in 1965.
Not much in the trunk except a sub-woofer can and sound system amp.

Caspian Blue 1965 Mustang convertible with a black interior and a white convertible top. From the factory, the convertible top cover (boot) is blue to match the interior. It is not colored to match the white convertible top. For a powertrain this Mustang has the 225hp 289ci V8 connected to a 4-speed manual transmission.

Caspian Blue 1965 Mustang convertible with it's white convertible top up. The white top goes well with the white wall tires. I'd drive it every day with the top down though.

This Mustang even has the optional trunk lid mounted luggage rack.
This is an original A-code 289ci V8 engine. It was rated at 225 horsepower. Does anyone know what the vacuum tank(?) is on the fender by the air conditioner bracket?
You can get a great shot of the interior with a convertible. This interior is blue in color. Check out the front bench seat. It was an option in 1965.
Check out this great shot of the optional Rally-Pac instrumentation option. There is a 6000rpm tach to the left and a clock to the right. The clock even as the military hour markings.
Here is a close-up of the AM radio and air conditioning head unit. The air conditioning unit has two controls - a fan knob and a temperature limit knob.
Let's decode the first line. The Body of 76 is for the convertible while the C is for the bench seat. The Color of H is for the Caspian Blue exterior paint. The Trim of 32 is for the blue bench seat. The Date of 26 is for the 26th day of K December 1964. The DSO of 11 is for the Boston district. Axle of 1 is 3.00. Trans of 5 is for the 4-speed manual transmission. Let's now decode the second line which is the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number). 5 is for the 1965 model year. F is for the Dearborn, Michigan assembly plant. 08 is for the convertible body style. A is for the 289ci 225hp V8 engine. 257591 is the sequential body number.

This is a black and white vintage Ford photo of the first 1965 Mustang Shelby GT-350 fastback. It has the Cragar wheels. You can see that there is no rear seat.
