This dataplate (or ID tag) is located on the rear edge of the drivers side door. It contains information about the car as it left the factory. It's important to keep this decal during the restoration of the car. I've seen reproduction tags - which worry me. I'd rather see the original tag. This one has a
V paint code for Light Pewter. Orange wasn't even available on the 1971 Mustang.

Grabber Yellow. The paint on this Mach-1 is original! It was sold new at Ashe County Motors in West Jefferson, North Carolina. Drivetrain consists of the M-code 351ci 4v V8 engine, C-6 Select Shift Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission, and a 3.00 standard rear axle.
