The firewall contains a Saleen ID plaque. It shows the build date of September 2000, serial number of 00-937, the last eight digits of the VIN, and the S-281 Saleen model number.
It's easy to get a good shot of the interior of a convertible. You can see the extra brake light contained in the optional sports bar. I wonder if it lights up when the top is up? If it did, I bet it would be pretty bright on the interior at night.
The interior is black. Check out the optional leather Saleen racing seats.
The white Saleen gauges are standard on the 2000 Saleen. This one is signed by Steve Saleen - see it off to the far right?
Take a look at this window sticker. The base price for the 2000 Saleen S-281SC is $41,360. Then add nearly $16,000 in options! The Saleen custom Speedlab Yellow paint was the most expensive at $6000.
Laser Red 2000 Mustang coupe owned by Stan Clemence from Valley Center, Kansas. It has the 3.8L V6 engine and a manual transmission. Stan tells us, "After riding in our son, Jon's Mustang, we decided we would like to get one. We found it last September in Missouri with 114,000 miles on it. Except for the rocker panel stripes I just added, it is pure stock. The interior is nearly new condition. The previous owner took very good care of it. We are the second owners. It's a blast to drive while getting good mileage to boot!"

Crystal White 2000 Mustang GT convertible with a tan gut and top. What's under the hood? A 4.6 liter 260 horsepower V8, of course! They are standard on the GT for the 2000 Mustang model year.

Here is a shot of that 260 horsepower 4.6 liter V8 engine. There is even a pony on the intake manifold.
The interior is light tan. The dash top is a darker shade of brown. This one has power windows, power locks, a power convertible top, cruise control, an AM/FM radio with cassette tape, and air conditioning.
Here is a shot of the rear seat. Not too bad! Still doesn't look like enough padding on the bottom to be comfortable on long trips - for an adult.
Laser Red 2000 Mustang GT coupe owned by Daniel Maxwell from Cherokee, Alabama. It has a 4.6L 2V V8 engine and an automatic transmission. Daniel has this story to share, "When I was a senior in 2002 I bought my first stang. It was a 95 V6. Literally the very next day my older brother bought this 00 GT. I loved the car. Drove it every chance I could which wasn't very often but I did talk him into letting me drive it to my senior prom. I graduated high school and joined the army. I still loved the car and drove it every time I came home on leave. I was injured and got a medical discharged out of the army n 2008. My brother still had the car with only 76k miles on it. When I got home he offered to sale it to me and I jumped on it. This car has too much sentimental value to ever get rid of it. I will let my house go back before I give up this car. hopefully if I have a son when he gets old enough (over 25 cause it will have serious hp then) I can pass it down. I am n the red mustang registry #1534 is my only affiliation." This is a 2000 Mustang Saleen S-281SC SuperCharged Speedster. It was a Saleen Factory conversion of a Mustang GT - serial number 443. It's a Speedster because it has the optional fiberglass tonneau cover over the rear seats.
