The back page of the 1981 Ford Mustang promotional booklet shows a Bright Bittersweet Cobra as well as some of the popular colors for 1981: medium blue glow, pastel chamois, bittersweet glow, dark cordovan metallic, light pewter metallic, and bright red.

Best of all this Ghia optioned Mustang has the Carriage Roof option which gives the look of a classic convertible with the top up, but of course this one never goes down. No Mustang convertible was offered in 1981. This Carriage Roof was offered in white grained vinyl; or black, blue or brown cloth.

This is a Medium Red 1981 Mustang Ghia optioned hatchback which is part of the
1981 Ford Mustang promotional catalog. Although every year (1974-1981) the Ghia luxury sport option package was offered in a 2-door coupe; only the last three years, it was offered also in the hatchback body style. This one has turbine wheel covers, a sun roof, color matched rear quarter window louver trim, and a Ghia insignia on the left rear tailgate.

Other Cobra offerings included black lower body paint, side and hood stripes and graphics, black window trim, rear spoiler, and rear facing non-functional hood scoop.

MMMMustang, America's most popular sports car. The ad is pushing economy, high mileage, and low sticker price. It also talks about the new 5-speed transmission with overdrive.

Check out this 1981 Mustang Magazine ad. It shows a
Hot Stuff Mustang where you can
turn high mileage into excitement. I think they are talking about the high gas milage of 34 mpg highway and 23 mpg city.
