(from page 63 of the 1968 Collection) This custom 1968 California Special Mustang GT was at the 2010 Mustang Roundup car show in Bellevue, Washington. This GT/CS was originally ordered Wimbledon White with a black vinyl top, but now wears a bright yellow exterior paint, custom wheels, and custom engine.

(from page 63 of the 1968 Collection) The engine has been customized including yellow block paint. Originally this car had a T-code, 200ci, 6-cylinder engine.

(from page 63 of the 1968 Collection) Here is were that custom yellow really looks great.

(from page 66 of the 1968 Collection) Here are parts from two newspaper ads placed by Bubba Oustalet Ford of Jennings, Louisiana for the 1968 Dixie Special Mustang. What's interesting here is that one of the colors is specified as a light yellow special paint. We think there were several special colors used on the Dixie Mustang but we think all had the Dixie Special emblem. The first ad was placed on March 12th while the second on March 4th. The rest of the advertisement says nothing about the Dixie Special Mustang. The stock number in both of these ads may be wrong because a 1968 Torino in the full ad states the same Stock Number as this car.

(from page 66 of the 1968 Collection) This 1968 Mustang hardtop is painted Pebble Beige. It has disc brakes, power steering, air conditioning, the exterior decor option and the 289ci 2v engine with automatic transmission.

California Special features include argent styled steel GT wheels, black GT/CS side stripe and lettering, California Special rear letters, metal rocker panel trim, louvered hood with hood pins, and Shelby style rear spoiler/wing and side scoops.

(from page 2 of the 1969 Collection) This beautiful Bright Yellow 1969 Boss 302 Mustang fastback is owned by Armond D'Agostini. The black side reflective stripe looks white in this photo but is actually black. This Boss 302 also has a blacked out hood, black front air dam and color matched mirrors.

(from page 2 of the 1969 Collection) In this lighting Armond's Bright Yellow 1969 Boss 302 Mustang fastback the side stripes are black.

(from page 2 of the 1969 Collection) Nicely done interior of Armond's 1969 Boss 302 Mustang fastback.

(from page 2 of the 1969 Collection) Unlike many of the sports models the basic 1969 Boss 302 Mustang dash was very simple without extra gauges, although they could be added as an option.

(from page 2 of the 1969 Collection) View of the 1969, Ford, Mustang, G-code, 302 cubic inch, 4 barrel, Boss V8 originally rated at 290hp (at 5800rpm).

(from page 2 of the 1969 Collection) Even the underside of this car looks great.

(from page 4 of the 1969 Collection) Take a look at this vintage shot of John Farrace's 1969 Mustang fastback taken back in 1984 when the previous owner (shown) put it into storage. John says, "It pretty much looks the same today. I purchased the car from her grandson who received the car via her will." Here is the kicker... It was built at the San Jose plant under Los Angeles Ordering District under special order #0084 and the car has a special order paint WT6210. WT6120 is a bright yellow paint, in fact, it is the same paint that Caterpillar Inc. uses on it's earth moving equipment. John plans to send more photos when his restoration is complete.

(from page 4 of the 1969 Collection) John Farrace shares photos of his newly restored special order yellow 1969 Mustang fastback. John says that is stock bar the wheels, sport mirrors, dual exhaust and radio. This is a special order paint WT6210. This was our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting May 29, 2011.
