Power and handling is featured on this page of the 2016 Shelby GT350 sales brochure. Under the hood is a flat-plane crankshaft, aluminum block, 526hp, 5.2L ,V8. The transmission is a Tremec 3160 6-speed manual. Torsen limited-slip differential rear axle with a 3.73:1 ratio. The radiator is larger than the Mustang GT, and with the Track Pack there are radiators for the engine, transmission and rear axle.
More GT350 performance is listed on this page. The optional Track Pack includes MagneRide dampers front and rear for electronically controlled, semi-active suspension. Custom brakes include 15.5 inch front rotors that are 1.4 inches thick (14.9 inch rear, 1 inch thick). Electric power rack-and-pinion steering system. Another feature is adaptive cruise control where 4 gaps can are preset to follow the car in front, along with potential collision warning on the windshield and audible alarm.
The convertible top retraction system has been redesigned to be twice as fast and leaves best-in-class trunk space.

The Ecoboost model with the turbocharged 4-cylinder has optional Selectable Drive Modes. There are versions for the manual and automatic transmission. The text on this page for those drive modes reads, Normal mode delivers a balance of comfort and responsive handling for an engaging driving experience. Sport+ mode provides more responsive steering and throttle response, plus different shift points if you Mustang is equipped with a SelectShift automatic transmission. Track mode, which is for track use only, allows skilled drivers to push the car closer to its limits on the track before AdvanceTrac electronic stability control intervenes. It's perfect for weekend track days and autocrosses because it lets you extract the absolute maximum from the vehicle. Snow/Wet mode comes in handy when road conditions take a turn for the worse. It provides confident handling by retaining a connected-to-the-road feel without sacrificing any of the inherent composure of your new Mustang.
For the GT and Shelby GT350 there is an electronic line-lock which is activated with the Mustang TrackApps. The features are listed as, For customized steering feedback, the selectable-effort electric power-assisted steering offers you 3 modes (Standard, Sport and Comfort) in the Steering Feel menu. An iconic "Christmas tree" offers accurate countdown starts. You can also monitor g-forces, braking times and acceleration times in quarter-mile, 0&60 and more, all
within the TrackApps. Serious stopping power is built into the GT Performance Package: 6-piston Brembo front calipers bite down on 15" vented rotors. Then it's go-time again.
The 2016 Mustang GT Performance Package includes a strut-town brace, a K-brace, heavy-duty front springs, an upsized rear sway bar, a lager radiator, a 3.73 TORSEN rear axle and more.
