It was our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week off October 19th, 2008. Brian adds, "I bought it one year ago. The previous owners did a great job of using Shelby clone parts and upgraded the car beautifully. Since owning it, I have put on new shocks and sway bars and have rebuilt the brakes. It definitely gets lots of looks!"

It's painted Sunset Orange (top) over Pearl White (bottom). Tony tells us more, "We purchased the car about six years ago from a local car lot here in our small town. The car had been for sale for some time and seemed to have made it's way through five owners in about one year. Apparently the car had issues with the charging system. We were looking for a mate for our 66 coupe so we decided to buy it and work through the problems. After some trial and error we discovered that it had the wrong wiring harness. Once we replaced it with the correct harness and new voltage regulator the issue was solved. When we took possession of the car it had horrible faded red paint with black interior. We drove it that way for three years replacing only the wheels and tires, shocks, spring, and coils. Once we decided we couldn't stand that faded out red paint anymore the restoration was on! We stripped the car in the garage then took it to get it sandblasted. Once we decided the paint colors and scheme we took it to the body shop where we decided on many modifications. These mods included shaving the drip rails, cowl, and rear vents. We added the front racing apron and deck lid. Both the front and rear windows are glued in and window trim is delete. The air cleaner is custom made from a GT350 hood scoop and bolts onto the carb to make a real shaker hood. Dual tip side exhaust was added and American Racing torque thrust II rims."

I have been modifying the engine - replaced valve covers and air cleaner to chrome, replaced distributor cap to a clear blue cap, replaced spark plug wires to a hi performance blue, replaced the spark plugs at the same time, placed some stickers in engine and trunk to original, replaced radiator cap with a blue cap, placed a blue cap over vacuum line off distributor, replaced solenoid and battery. Future replacements: radiator, alternator, water pump, balancer, change intake manifold to headers, starter, carburetor, rims and tires from 14 to 15-inch, radio and antenna, carpet, seats, and oil pan. Just to name a few."

It's was sold thru through the military PX system, shipped from the US to Europe, and sent back when a soldier was done with there tour of duty. It's been with me for a year and a half and has won best of show, best of class, and also a Facebook page. "

It was advertised locally by the owner of 30 years. It was in dry storage for several years. He kept the vehicle maintained - I have receipts for over $15,000 spent. I drove the car back from Tahoe after flushing out coolant fluids etc, and it drove flawlessly the 200 mile trip back to the East Bay. The pony interior could do with new covers. Still very presentable."

New door rubbers and doors fully rebuilt with new window mechanisms, felt tracks and quarter vent rubbers, repinned door hinges and springs/cams. Work has started on full sound insulation (Resomat) throughout with only the trunk being completed to date. With Resomat it is expected that exterior noise will remain outside. New original styled wheels were ordered from the States in 15x7 for the front fitted with 225x60 and the rears with 235x60 BFG white letter tires. The remarkable Mustang is an absolute pleasure to drive and turns heads wherever it goes. It really is a classic muscle car and always work in progress which of course is great fun to work on."

(from page 23 of the 1968 Collection) White 1968 Mustang hardtop owned by Lacy Austin from Kinston, North Carolina. Lacy tells us, "She was a weekend racer in Winston Salem, NC before the late owner became sick. He let me have the car for next to nothing. His best trophy was 'The Eliminator 2005 Super Street Class'. He said, 'Just have fun with it'. I named her Bad Co. and spent the last two years modding and making it street legal. Too many mods to list. If ever a car had 'ATTITUDE' this would be it."

(from page 27 of the 1968 Collection) Dave Fingar is restoring this 1968 Mustang fastback. Dave tells us about his progress so far, "I bought a disassembled shell last April and spent most of the summer removing and repairing rust. I am now working in my heated basement and have rebuilt the suspension and brakes. Last weekend we installed the engine. I expect the rest of the drivetrain to go in this week. January and February will be final body detail, then March is paint - white with blue stripes. Hope to be driving it this summer."

Looking at the Mustang and not knowing what was the condition or what was the story of it, I asked the neighbor. It is owned by Russ Rainwater from Salem, Oregon. Russ explains, "I have completed many body modifications such as hood scoop, side intakes, ground effects, rear spoiler, and molded rear panel. I know this look may not be for everyone but I enjoy some things different than stock. Most recent upgrades were the 20-inch rims and dual exhaust exiting in front of the rear tires. Glass packs with a balance bar for a great classic muscle car sound. Future plans are B&M shifter, blacked out chrome, block sanding, then spray the gun metal gray with black stripes. Yes, painting the bumpers but I will leave the T-5 emblem. Did these cars have fender emblems on both sides or just the drivers? This is my birth year car and has been a blast to work on!"

This Cobra has a 305ci V8 engine and an automatic transmission. The owner says, "I have always been a Ford girl, but this baby gets quite the looks. I am restoring the car this winter, as needs new paint job. As soon as I got her I purchased a Marti Report and came to find out that it is a 1-of-88 with this trim package for the Cobra II for 1977! - Polar white exterior paint, white with Red interior trim colour, and it had only an AM radio that still works. It was built 09/03/1976, so it's an early Motortown conversion Cobra II. I'm always looking for info regarding the Motortown conversion process before Ford took the Cobra II package in-house; it's a special part of Cobra II history!"

4.3 of 5 mustang attitude4.3 of 5 mustang attitude4.3 of 5 mustang attitude4.3 of 5 mustang attitude4.3 of 5 mustang attitude (from page 4 of the 1985 Collection) Oxford White 1985 Mustang Predator convertible owned by Kerry Wiland from Cortland, Ohio. This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting September 15, 2013. Kerry tells us more, "I just recently purchased this Mustang. It came to me from Gardner, Kansas. It is a rare and odd car. It started life as a 1985 Twister II white convertible. It is one of eight Twister IIs that have been confirmed that were sent to Soloman American and converted to Predators. Data I have found shows that one of those cars was a hatch, one was a red vert, and the last six were white verts. If this is the case, then all six white vert twister IIs that were built would have been converted to Predators. Three of them are carb'd cars and three of them were CFI cars. This car is Predator number 5S-0149. It has undergone a cosmetic restoration on the body back to it's original Predator condition with the addition of the twister graphic on the rear 1/4 to pay homage to the way it started it's life. It has no other modifications other than those done by Soloman American. These pictures were taken before I purchased it. The building in the background is the Soloman American warehouse building."

It has the 5.0L V8 engine and an automatic transmission. Brett shares, "This 92 Ford Mustang GT came to our stable after spending a little time being abused as it was in the hands of a 17 year old student. That was five years ago. Since then, the ol' girl has received quite a few upgrades both internally and externally. Inside, the 92 has virtually remained stock, with the exception of an aftermarket stereo system. Under the hood is a Cold Air Kit with aftermarket Short Tube Headers that exit through Flowmaster 40 Series Mufflers. As for the body, the 92 has changed shoes to 5-Lug Chrome 2003 Cobras, a 4-inch Cowl Hood and LX Style Tail Lights. Our Love for Fox Bodies has grown so much that three years ago we started a foundation called 'Save A Fox Foundation' on Facebook. We currently have over 1600 members."

4.1 of 5 mustang attitude4.1 of 5 mustang attitude4.1 of 5 mustang attitude4.1 of 5 mustang attitude4.1 of 5 mustang attitude (from page 6 of the 1993 Collection) Vibrant White 1993 Mustang hatchback owned by Tyler A from Hudson County, New Jersey. It has the 302ci V8 engine and a manual transmission. Tyler tells us, "I had been searching for an un-modified, well-maintained, 5.0 fox body Mustang for years throughout my college years. As college ended and I had no luck finding one that was not chopped up, I began to give up hope. I knew what I wanted; a fox body that was true to the time period, and there were hard to come by in my area. While I continued to love cars, I also continued to search more aggressively years later. I put the word out about what I was looking for and a family friend gave me a call, saying that he knew where one was for sale that represented exactly what I was looking for. I went and saw the car and bought it on the spot. The car was in mint condition, with 16,000 original miles, still with ORIGINAL PAINT, factory plastic under the floormats, and everything else ALL ORIGINAL! I have babied the car since, won some awards, and stored it meticulously, only driving it to car shows and cruising around the neighborhood to keep the mileage low. Recently, at a car show in my area, a man approached me and said he swore he knew the car. He alleged that he spent a lot of time around it and told me to wait for a minute. He came back with the original owner who first purchased the car in 1993! It was absolutely incredible. The car has been a dream, it has brought along some great stories, some awards, and a lot of fond memories. It was certainly a happy ending for me and she still sits all original to this day!"
