(from page 19 of the 1967 Collection) Candy Apple Red 1967 Shelby GT500 fastback owned by Shaun Fitzgerald from Harmony, Pennsylvania. This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting December 29, 2013. Shaun shares, "Shelby #258 was built at Ford's San Jose California plant on December 9, 1966. It was sold by JD Ball Ford in Miami on January 18, 1967. The car remained in Miami until 1986. I have owned it since 1997. The Shelby was an original painted Lime Gold Metallic and equipped with a 428 Police Interceptor. The car was painted red and the 427 installed in 1985. Additional details about the car at www.shelby258.com"

(from page 19 of the 1967 Collection) Here is an unaltered shot of Shaun's GT500. The car originally came with; heater and defroster, Cobra OHV 428ci V8, 4-speed manual shift, tachometer, trip odometer, extra cooling package, competition handling package, integral roll bar, oil pressure gauge, ammeter, deluxe interior, Deluxe steering wheel, remote control side mirror, power steering, power disc brakes, shoulder harness, fold-down rear seat and Deluxe wheels (15x7 Kelsey-Hayes Mag Star wheels), radio delete, no Le Mans stripes, inboard headlights, and functional lower rear brake scoops.

(from page 19 of the 1967 Collection) This is one awesome GT500.

(from page 40 of the 1967 Collection) This is a rare one. It's a 1967 Mustang Shelby GT-500 hardtop! It was the first and only one built by Shelby - called "Little Red". Although more 1967 hardtops where built by Shelby, it was the inspiration for the 1968 California Special. This GT-500 had twin Paxton Superchargers on a 428ci engine. It is reported to have been crushed as most prototypes were.

(from page 40 of the 1967 Collection) This 1967 Shelby GT-500 hardtop even has a black vinyl top. Vinyl tops where hugely popular in the 60s and 70s.

(from page 40 of the 1967 Collection) Here is a super rare Mustang. Only one built! It's a Candyapple Red 1967 Shelby GT-500 convertible. It's owned by Samantha and Brian Styles from Delray Beach, Florida. This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting February 1, 2015. It has a 428ci V8 "Interceptor" engine and an automatic transmission. Shelby had intended to offer the GT350 and GT500 in all three body styles - six in all. Brian adds, "We just gained access to the Ford Special Orders (DSOs) and they confirm that Shelby American even went so far as to create "package" codes for each type of car. The convertible was package code "413C", meaning a GT500, Auto, AC, Smog, Convertible Body. Carroll claimed the convertible as his own personal car. About 4 months later, the car was needed for a new task. It was used to bolt on the A.O. Smith built '68 styled fiberglass designed by Ford. It was essentially disguised as a '68 for the purpose of taking photos -- a lot of photos. A couple Shelby employees referred to the car in the stage as a "68 styling proto," though there was actually nothing prototype about it. Nothing more than a model putting on a new dress for her walk down the runway." Check out the www.1967shelbyconvertible.com website for more information.

(from page 64 of the 1968 Collection) Candy Apple Red 1968 Mustang Shelby GT-500 convertible with white stripes and a white convertible top. This one has the super cool 10-spoke Shelby wheels. These came stock with the car back in 1968! This car was on display at the 2010 Mustang and Ford car show at Uftring Ford in East Peoria, Illinois.

(from page 64 of the 1968 Collection) This GT-500 convertible looks good from this angle too.

(from page 29 of the 1969 Collection) What's better than one Royal Maroon 1969 Mustang Shelby GT-500? How about TWO Royal Maroon 1969 Mustang Shelby GT-500s. One is a fastback the other is a convertible.

(from page 29 of the 1969 Collection) Another shot of the Royal Maroon 1969 Mustang Shelby GT-500 fastback at a car show. It's odd to see all the hoods down during a car show. Maybe rain was threatening.

(from page 38 of the 1969 Collection) Competition Orange 1969 Shelby GT500 Mustang at the 2010 Mustang Roundup car show in Tampa, Florida.
