(from page 17 of the 1965 Collection) This Mustang has the GT emblem on the front fender, GT style rocker stripes, and GT style fog lights.

(from page 17 of the 1965 Collection) Around the rear are the chrome exhaust tips which exit through the valance panel.

(from page 17 of the 1965 Collection) This is how the Mustang looked when Joe got it.

(from page 18 of the 1965 Collection) Ivy Green 1965 Mustang GT convertible owned by Steve from Colchester, Vermont. This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting February 22, 2015. This GT has its original 289ci 4V V8 engine and an automatic transmission. Steve tells us more, "I bought the car in December 2013 from a muscle car dealer in Illinois. The car had been consigned from an owner in California. Many records came with the car which was produced originally in San Jose. The records show two long term owners in Northern California (San Jose area) but I haven't yet been able to trace owners from the 60s and 70s. The car was in need of some restoration and so far I have installed new convertible top, new carpet, new electrical harnesses in engine bay and under dash. The seats only required some cleanup, but I did replace the foam. The car came with Magnums which were wrong for 1965 so I replaced those with 14-inch styled steel wheels and new dual red line radial tires from Coker. The paint was great - only required some polishing and waxing. The undercarriage was restored before I bought the car and is very clean. The Mustang is a true GT and drives great! The top is even powered. It's a keeper."

(from page 18 of the 1965 Collection) Part of the GT option in 1965 are these dual grille mounted fog lights.

(from page 18 of the 1965 Collection) Left side view of Steve's Ivy Green 1965 Mustang GT convertible. It has the 289 V8 emblem on the front fender just behind the headlight. It also has the GT emblem on the fender behind the front wheel.

(from page 18 of the 1965 Collection) This is the original 289ci 4V V8 engine. It was originally rated at 225 horsepower.

(from page 18 of the 1965 Collection) It has the olive green and white interior. Check out the Rally Pac instruments on the steering column. It features a tach and a clock.

(from page 18 of the 1965 Collection) It has the pony seats!

(from page 19 of the 1965 Collection) Poppy Red 1965 Mustang GT convertible owned by Bob from Boston, Massachusetts. It has it's original 289 4V V8 engine and a manual transmission. Poppy Red is orange in color.

(from page 19 of the 1965 Collection) This 289ci V8 was rated at 225 horsepower. It's original to the car including the Autolite 4100 carburetor and transmission.

(from page 19 of the 1965 Collection) This 65 has a black interior.

(from page 19 of the 1965 Collection) The five gauge instrument cluster in the dash was an option in 1965 along with the extra two gauges (tach and clock) on the column.

(from page 25 of the 1965 Collection) Check out this Silver Smoke Gray 1965 Mustang GT with GT wheels, fog lamps, red rocker panel stripes, red line tires, and GT fender emblem. Bennie Grigsby-Horton sends the photos to us and is our Attitude of the Week starting December 4th, 2018. Bennie says that the car was bought new in 1965 in Los Angeles, California by her Dad and was given to Bennie for high school graduation.

(from page 25 of the 1965 Collection) Another cool view of Bennie's 1965 Mustang GT at a car show.

(from page 25 of the 1965 Collection) Rear view showing the dual exhaust coming through the rear valance. This is one way to determine an original GT Mustang from 1967. Others would have the exhaust below the valance.

(from page 25 of the 1965 Collection) A nice black and ivory white interior with full center console, wood trim, and manual transmission.

(from page 25 of the 1965 Collection) Nice view of a A-code 289ci 4-barrel V8 engine in this 1965 Mustang GT.

(from page 25 of the 1965 Collection) These are additional photos. The top is up in this photo of Bennie's 1965 Mustang GT. She says it was also featured in the Mustang Club of America Magazine.
