(from page 1 of the 1968 Collection) Royal Maroon 1968 Mustang GT California Special hardtop, left rear view. Check out the California Special emblem on the rear fender. Don added LED sequential tail lights from Mustang Project. The tail lights come on in three steps as the turn signals are activated. First the outside two, then the middle two, then the inside two. This is similar to the mid 60s Thunderbirds, except these use LEDs instead of incandescent bulbs.

(from page 1 of the 1968 Collection) Don's Royal Maroon 1968 GT California Special was the inspiration for the development of the 1968 GT/CS diecast produced by Greenlight Toys and was the original car used in their research for their 1/18th scale model.

(from page 36 of the 1968 Collection) Rear left view of a Candy Apple Red 1968 Mustang GT/CS black vinyl hardtop showing off the California Special signature unique taillights, rear fender and side scoop lettering. The gas cap has a red GT on it to match the wheels. The rear valance does not have the GT cutouts for the exhaust tips.

(from page 41 of the 1968 Collection) Vinyl tops were popular in the sixties and seventies.

(from page 51 of the 1968 Collection) Rear view of this Candyapple Red 1968 Mustang GT High Country Special. You can just make out the special High Country Special badge on the side air scoop.

(from page 52 of the 1968 Collection) Only Mustang makes it happen! This Mustang magazine advertisement shows what happens to you after you buy a Candyapple Red 1968 Mustang GT fastback. The advertisement reads, Sidney spent Sundays seashelling at the seashore. Then Sidney started digging the '68 Mustang - the great original. Dug the models: hardtop, fastback and convertible. Liked the low price, too, which left Sidney lots of clams to design his own Mustang, Sidney style. Now Sidney's making waves all over. Last week he saved 3 bathing beauties. (And they all could swim better than Sidney!). Check out another version of this ad.

(from page 54 of the 1968 Collection) In the rear are dual exhaust splitters exiting through notches in the rear valance. This is part of the GT package in 1968.

(from page 4 of the 1983 Collection) Red 1983 Mustang GT hatchback, left rear view.

(from page 5 of the 1983 Collection) Viper Red 1983 Mustang GT hatchback, left rear view.
