This Sunlight Yellow 1964 Mustang convertible was on display at the Princeville Illinois 175th town anniversary car and bike show. It had the GT options (fog lights and rear exhaust trumpets) right from the factory. The owner had the dealer window decal to prove it.

The owner has 1964 and a half plates. This car was built before the Ford assembly plants shut down for retooling for the 1965 models in August 1964. The vehicle identification number has a model year of 5 for 1965. These first Mustangs are called 1964 models, 1964 1/2 models, and early 1965. Which do you use?

These fog lights later became part of the GT package in 1965. Fog lights have been a distinguishing feature on the GT package ever since.

Check out this Wimbledon White 1965 Shelby GT-350 competition. It's owned by a site visitor in Palos Heights, Illinois. This was our featured Attitude Of the Week for the week starting November 14, 2010. The owner says that it is very correct with one exception - aluminum Z304 racing heads. He drives it everywhere! This photo is also our 12,000th Mustang photo posted to the site.
