It's our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting July 1, 2012. Randy tells us more, "This 67 HCS GT fastback when delivered with it's options made it a 1 of 1 (Marti report). The only fastback GT HCS with a standard 3 speed transmission and Aspen Gold. Now it enjoys a late model AOD [Automatic Over Drive], AC, power steering, and power front disk brakes. Its not a race horse but a nice weekend driver - never restored but maintained, but with a 3:55 rear end gear and 70 mph it still gets close to 19 mpg!!!!!."

It was sent in by site visitor, Gary, who noticed that we didn't have any photos of a Limited Edition 400 Mustang. These photos were taken soon after purchasing it new in 1967. He purchased it for his soon-to-be wife from C. Bradshaw, Inc. in Harvey, Illinois. Thanks Gary! Gary tells us more,
"It was a special gold color with black vinyl top. It had black leather bucket seats with a 289 V8 with auto transmission and a floor console shifter. It had a 'Limited Edition 400' emblem on each of the front fenders. Everyone thought that it meant 400 cubic inches, but actually it designated a limited edition model of 400 cars for the Chicago market. A very sharp car and fun to drive. We eventually traded it in for a new Ford Maverick (DUMB)."

Mustang Blazer! Hardtop favorite - different in a very special way from all other Mustang Hardtops! Lime Gold body, black top. Personal nameplate inside, Blazer nameplate outside. Built for this area only. Don't wait - order now! Optional - choice of V8 engines, new 2-way cruise-o-matic Drive. And all this for $2451.46. We are the first to show you this series of newspaper articles from the Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio area featuring a newly discovered 1967 Mustang Limited Edition called the "Mustang Blazer". We found many advertisements in local newspapers from mid November through mid December 1966. All of them featured women; therefore, we think this limited edition Mustang was designed more for women. This advertisement was placed by several dealerships: Grantsville Motor Service, Gratton Ford, Shaffer Ford, Kowell Ford, and Jim Beamer Ford in the November 11th edition of the Cumberland Evening Times of Cumberland, Maryland. The Blazer option was also on the Ford Galaxie 500.

Lime Gold was more of a green than a gold in color. Those side scoops down low behind the doors are functional! They provide cool air to the rear brakes.

"I bought it in 1980 in Anaheim, California. It is mostly original and unrestored. It does have fresh paint and I did rebuild the engine, but other than that, it is basically a survivor."

"This is a Canadian car which has stayed in Ontario its whole life. The car is in complete original condition and has been painted only once. The body and undercarriage of the car has been preserved extremely well, with no rust at all. It has a 260 six cylinder that runs very well. It is hard to decide what to do with such a car being in such perfect condition."

Chicagoland area on December 8th, 1966. It says,
Announcing a new Limited Edition Mustang. Only 400 people in the USA will be driving one of these special Mustangs (and they'll all be in the Chicagoland Area). Mustang Hardtop - Limited Edition 400, built for the Chicagoland area only! Specially painted in a distinctive, deep metallic gold. Special high-style trim and deluxe equipment includes: new automatic/manual SelectShift Cruise-O-Matic, radio, deluxe wheel covers, "breather" hood louvers with turn signal indicators, bright-metal moldings at wheel cutouts and rear deck lid, Limited Edition 400 emblem on fender, personal nameplate on instrument panel. Order now - when these are gone there won't be any more! We are not sure what the
Limited Edition 400 fender emblem looks like but there is a drawing of the instrument panel nameplate. We found this ad for Bradshaw Ford in the December 8th, 1966, edition of the Blue Island Sun-Standard of Blue Island, Illinois. Blue Island is in the south part of Chicago. We've never heard of this special model before. If anyone has more information,
let us know.

A viewer sent us this photo set of his Mustang with a non-standard gold paint under the later added white. It also has rear panel holes where a badge might have been. A Marti report might confirm more since the door data tag is missing due to a door replacement.
(10 photos of a 1968 Sunlit Gold Mustang T-5 Convertible) This amazing 1968 Sunlit Gold T-5 Mustang comes to us from Mario Sikorski of Ingolstadt, Germany, and was our featured Attitude Of The Week for December 7th, 2008. Mario tells us that his T-5 has been restored, has all its matching factory numbers, and according to the Marti report this is a one of a kind. When these cars were exported to Germany, Ford could not register the "Mustang" name for sale. Ford replaced the "Mustang" emblems with "T-5" emblems. T-5 Mustangs exist from 1964 through 1979.

Attitude of the Week for April 26th, 2009. It was built in San Jose, ordered in Los Angeles, under a special order with special paint WT3822. Mal writes:
My Mustang was imported in to Australia from Los Angeles as a running car and I purchased it from an importer. I knew little about Mustangs and the hobby grew from there. The body and Paint have been refurbished and the color has been professionally matched to the original color in the trunk. Body was rust free fortunately. The Mustang was in very good original condition when purchased and I drove it home, I have done most of the mechanicals and put it all together my self, I also have the original owners manual and is a matching numbers car. But most of all, I love driving it. Spanish Gold shares the same paint code as Black Hills Gold used in January 1968 for the Color of the Month Mustang promotion. The Color of the Month promotion offered a special ordered color and sport options for each of the first 4 months of 1968. Black Hills Gold was offered in January for the New Years; Passionate Pink in February for Valentines day; Emerald Green in March for Saint Patrick's Day, and Eastertime Coral for April. (4 photos of a 1968 Sunlit Gold Mustang Golden Nugget Special Hardtop) Scott Rear of Pitt Meadows, BC, Canada sent us this photo of his Sunlit Gold 1968 Golden Nugget Special Mustang hardtop with its original 289ci 2V V8 engine. This original Golden Nugget Special was purchased from Perry Morrell Motors which used to be in Silverton Oregon. Scott says,
In the process of restoring her now. I am looking for images of the
dash plaque that came with the car so I can reproduce one. The vinyl roof
has been removed in the pictures. 525 of these cars were built and sold in the Seattle area and came with 289 cubic inch 2V V8 engine, C4 automatic transmission, louvered hood, black stripes, black vinyl top, black interior, and featured unique golden plaques on the dashboard with the original owner's name engraved.
