(from page 27 of the 1968 Collection) Dave Fingar is restoring this 1968 Mustang fastback. Dave tells us about his progress so far, "I bought a disassembled shell last April and spent most of the summer removing and repairing rust. I am now working in my heated basement and have rebuilt the suspension and brakes. Last weekend we installed the engine. I expect the rest of the drivetrain to go in this week. January and February will be final body detail, then March is paint - white with blue stripes. Hope to be driving it this summer."

(from page 37 of the 1968 Collection) This might be an advertisement for a Wimbledon White version of the 1968 Cardinal Special Mustang limited to the Virginia and North Carolina area. We know they came in Candyapple Red, but many also think white was an option. It's hard to tell since this is a black and white advertisement. This advertisement was for Barkhouser Ford in the March 29th, 1968, edition of The Danville Register of Danville, Virginia.

(from page 46 of the 1968 Collection) There is no doubt what this car is with the California Special rear fender chrome lettering.

(from page 48 of the 1968 Collection) Wimbledon White 1968 Mustang Sprint optioned hardtop owned by Gustavo Carmona from Cotati, California. This one has the Sprint B package which had the V8 engine, Argent style wheels, and the fog lights. Gustavo tells us, "I found the Mustang in a small town called Woodacre while I was storm patrolling the area. Looking at the Mustang and not knowing what was the condition or what was the story of it, I asked the neighbor. The neighbor told me that people have been stopping for the Mustang and never was sold to anybody. Luckily that day I stopped by and the son's mother told me that her son was getting married and he was probably be interested in selling it. I called him up. I am the third owner. It was in very good condition. All matching numbers all original inside and outside."

(from page 48 of the 1968 Collection) The Sprint B did have the V8, C-stripe, and fog lights from the GT package - but did not have the GT logo on the wheels or gas cap, nor the rear valance exhaust cutouts.

(from page 66 of the 1968 Collection) A very original looking Wimbledon White 1968 Mustang Shelby GT-350. Its a little beat up, missing its Lemans over-the-top stripes, front grille, and a backseat but otherwise its in amazing condition. I photographed this Shelby GT-350 at the 2011 Mustang Roundup car show held in Bellevue, Washington.
