(from page 26 of the 1965 Collection) The 1965, Ford, Mustang, K-code, high performance 289 cubic inch, 4 barrel, V8 engine originally rated at 271hp (at 6000rpm).

(from page 26 of the 1965 Collection) Close-up of the optional steel styled wheels.

(from page 26 of the 1965 Collection) Close-up of the door data tag. This tag has been replaced and has no exterior color code. The extra numbers between the DSO (district the car was ordered) and the axle is sometimes the special color number or special model number. We'll do some research to try to figure them out...

(from page 27 of the 1965 Collection) Arcadian Blue Mustang GT convertible with full wheel covers, pained rocker panel stripes, and fog lamps. This car also has its original 225hp (at 4800rpm) 289ci 4-barrel V8 engine.

(from page 27 of the 1965 Collection) Blue interior of a Mustang GT convertible with full center console, five-dial instrument GT cluster and color keyed deluxe seat belts.

(from page 27 of the 1965 Collection) A view of a restored 1965, Ford, Mustang, A-code, 225hp (at 4800rpm), 289 cubic inch, 4 barrel, V8 engine.

(from page 29 of the 1965 Collection) Although not the original exterior paint, this may be an example of the 1965 Dallas Red White and Blue promotional sale Mustang. This 1965 Mustang GT has the c-code, 195hp 289ci V8 under the hood, has the blue vinyl with blue trim, and GT fender badge with low side stripe. Brian and his family have owned the car since 2008 but followed the car's history since 1977. It was repainted prior to 1977. The original paint color is unknown but due to the name of the promotion, we believe it to have been red, white, blue or some combination. We have some information from a possible other Dallas Red White and Blue that the blue was 1965 Ford Truck Marlin blue M1742.

(from page 29 of the 1965 Collection) View of the side showing the GT fender emblem and lower side stripe. Again, this car has been repainted and the original color is unknown. The door data tag reads 76A = convertible, blank = special order paint, 22 = blue interior trim, 09T = build date of June 9th of 1965, 613990 = Dallas area special order 3990, 1 = 3.00:1 axle, and 5 = 4-speed manual transmission. The build date of this car and the other possible Dallas Red White and Blue special of May 22, 1965 is right for a 4th of July special sale.

(from page 30 of the 1965 Collection) Close up of the GT fender emblem and lower stripe.

(from page 38 of the 1965 Collection) Caspian Blue Mustang GT convertible with white GT rocker panel stripes, GT fender emblem, steel styled wheels, passenger side mirror, grille mounted fog lamps, and a 289ci V8 engine. I photographed this car at the 2010 MCA Grand Nationals car show held in Bellevue, Washington.

(from page 38 of the 1965 Collection) Here is a good view of a small part of the 2010 MCA Grand Nationals car show with a Caspian Blue 1965 Mustang GT in the foreground.

(from page 38 of the 1965 Collection) There is some custom trim on this 289ci V8 engine. I like the FoMoCo windshield wiper fluid bag in the back of the photo.

(from page 38 of the 1965 Collection) Close up of the rocker panel GT stripes, GT fender emblem, and optional steel styled wheels.

(from page 39 of the 1965 Collection) Twilight Turquoise 1965 Mustang GT fastback with steel styled wheels, white rocker panel stripes, GT fender emblem, fog lamps, passenger side mirror, and 289ci V8 engine. I photographed this car at the 2010 MCA Grand Nationals held in Bellevue, Washington.

(from page 39 of the 1965 Collection) Nice white interior with black carpet and other accents.

(from page 39 of the 1965 Collection) View of the 1965, Ford, Mustang, A-code, 289 cubic inch, 4 valve, V8 engine with a bit of chrome added along with an extra brace.

(from page 39 of the 1965 Collection) I thought this was a cool view, looking up the rear quarter window louver/vents.
