You can see the rear window defroster real well in this shot. As far as I can tell, this was not an option in 1965. The rear window defogger (a blower unit) was a new option on the Mustang in 1968. The rear window defroster (heated wire units) was introduced as an option on the Mustang in 1971.

5/28/65. Could this be one of the first of the GTs? IT was built one month after they started offering the GT package."

Caspian Blue Mustang GT convertible owned by Eddie Anderson from Mobile, Alabama. This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting February 3, 2013. It is a factory GT with a 289ci 4v engine. It has a bench seat. Eddie is the third owner. The car has a bit over 26,000 miles on the clock and has had only one repaint. The is Eddie's as well.

for August 3rd, 2008. It has the GT rocker panel painted stripes (the other GT option was metal rocker panel trim), fog lamps, and the high performance 289 cubic inch, 4 barrel, V8 engine originally rated at 271hp (at 6000rpm).
