This Candy Apple Red 1966 Mustang GT fastback is owned by Mike S. of Columbia Station, Ohio. This was our featured
Attitude Of The Week photo for the week starting July 12, 2009. Mike says,
"I got it in 2001. I added a K&N air filter. It has a vintage correct Shelby intake with dual quad set up (Carter's). It looks and sounds great!"

In this sunset view you can see the GT dual Chrome exhaust trumpets thru rear valance. If the exhaust is hanging below this valance, then it might not be a real 66 GT.

This is a real Wimbledon White 1966 Shelby GT-350 fastback. It is a "carry-over" car. The first 252 Shelby GT-350s for 1966 had 1965 Mustang bodies and 1965 Mustang serial number plates under their Shelby serial number plates. These "carry-over" cars had mostly 1965 features including standard Koni shocks and their engines where painted black instead of blue.

That is the 289ci High Performance V8 engine. Most of the 1965 "carry-over" Shelbys had the black painted engine like this one. The special Shelby VIN plate can be seen off to the right on the inner edge of the fender.

Just the basics in here. It has Ray Brown 3-inch competition seat belts.

There is a cobra emblem on the tachometer and on steering wheel center cap.

No back seat! Just a roll bar. Rear seats where not an option in 1965, but they were in 1966.
