Attitude Of The Week for the week starting February 1, 2015. It has a 428ci V8 "Interceptor" engine and an automatic transmission. Shelby had intended to offer the GT350 and GT500 in all three body styles - six in all. Brian adds,
"We just gained access to the Ford Special Orders (DSOs) and they confirm that Shelby American even went so far as to create "package" codes for each type of car. The convertible was package code "413C", meaning a GT500, Auto, AC, Smog, Convertible Body. Carroll claimed the convertible as his own personal car. About 4 months later, the car was needed for a new task. It was used to bolt on the A.O. Smith built '68 styled fiberglass designed by Ford. It was essentially disguised as a '68 for the purpose of taking photos -- a lot of photos. A couple Shelby employees referred to the car in the stage as a "68 styling proto," though there was actually nothing prototype about it. Nothing more than a model putting on a new dress for her walk down the runway." Check out the www.1967shelbyconvertible.com website for more information.

(1 photo of a 2008 Performance White Mustang Shelby GT-500 Super Snake Coupe) This is a Performance White 2008 Mustang Shelby GT500 Super Snake coupe dealer modified with Shelby Super Snake custom, GT500KR, and Ford Racing components. The result is a unique Super Snake with over 600hp and 590 ft-lbs of torque. It is also possible to tune up the engine to deliver 725hp. Most of the add-ons are available from either Shelby or Ford, so besides the Shelby factory, dealers, and owners can make their own. The price is about $30K higher than a GT500. As far as value, the Shelby factory upgrade is worth more, but since the parts are available anyone can upgrade a GT500 themselves. Have to be careful about voiding the Ford warrantee, especially with the 725hp upgrade. This White Shelby Super Snake was our featured Attitude Of The Week for August 10th, 2008.

We own a 1967 Dusk Rose Mustang and have always wanted a newer Mustang to go with the old one. Little did we know, we would end up with one so soon. At the end of last summer(2012) an older gentleman decided to trade his 2009 Shelby GT500 in on another vehicle. My parents just happened to be at the dealership on this day.(I believe it was a Friday) My husband and I got home on Sunday from a beach vacation. This is when my parents started talking about this beautiful Shelby GT500 and what an amazing price it was and that it only had 1,800 miles. My husband's face lite up. He called the dealership on Monday and they still had the Shelby. We went to look at it that night and brought it home with us. We felt like it was one of those once in a lifetime opportunity's. We are still pinching ourselves."
