(from page 1 of the 1964 Collection) Check out this 1964 Mustang magazine ad. It has a blue Mustang hardtop with a white vinyl top. It start off with, "Presenting the unexpected... new Ford Mustang!" You can tell this is an early one, because it asks us to check out it out at the World's Fair where it was first released to the public - "See the Mustang and ride Walt Disney's Magic Skyway at the Ford Motor Company Wonder Rotunda, New York World's Fair."


(from page 15 of the 1964 Collection) Wimbledon White 1964 Mustang hardtop featured at it's debut at the World's Fair in this magazine advertisement. It it titled, Mustang - exciting new car from Ford Motor Company... show stopper at the World's Fair The ad goes on to say,
We think we have pretty fair grounds for showing off our Mustang at the World's Fair. The wonderland setting, our "wonder" car and the Ford Motor Wonder Rotunda go together to sum up our feelings about new product ideas at Ford Motor Company. We plan them - from a standpoint of over-all design and engineering - to be nothing short of wonderful.

(from page 38 of the 1965 Collection) Magazine ad featuring a Caspian Blue 1965 Mustang hardtop. It is titled, "Desmond was afraid to let the cat out... until he got his Mustang." It goes on to say, "Mustang! A car to make weak men strong, strong men invincible." According to the ad, Desmond here was able to trade his cat for a girl after getting a Mustang.


(from page 39 of the 1965 Collection) Submitted by a viewer, this ad placed in the September 5th, 1965 edition of Le Petit Journal says Player's Mustang-A-Week contest. Will you be a winner? A spirited Mustang hardtop Ford will be given in prizes every week. Read the instructions below and enter the contest as often as you like, it is very easy. Maybe you're one of the lucky winners. This ad says that 15 of the unique blue and white 1965 Mustang Player's special edition hardtops will be given away weekly between June 16th and September 22nd, 1965. Player's promotions like this occurred in many Providences in Canada between 1965 and 1968.

The first of 15 blue and white 1965 Mustangs were given away between June 2nd, 1965 and September 8th, 1965. The Player's Mustang contest was held in many Canadian Providences in 1965 and 1968 according to the viewer who send us these ads after he contacted the Imperial Tobacco company. He also found ads for this promotion in 1966 and 1967.

(from page 39 of the 1965 Collection) This newspaper shows Mr. Jack Idler of Riverside Ontario being handed the keys to a blue and white 1965 Mustang Player's special edition hardtop. The viewer who sent this set of advertisements in told us that he talked with Jack Idler in early 2007 about his car that was under a tarp for the last 15 years and needed a full restoration. The current whereabouts of the car is unknown.

That must be here "having fun" dress? She parked on a dirt road and is having fun? I like the first line, "Life was just one diaper after another until Sarah got her new Mustang."

It was a special model advertised by Twin City Finance in the May 18th, 1968 edition of The Times newspaper from Shreveport, Louisiana. Special identifying features include a filled bullet hole in the body and special rate bail bonds financing.


(from page 5 of the 1966 Collection) Check out this 1966 Mustang magazine ad. It features a Candy Apple Red 1966 Mustang hardtop passing a green traffic light. It starts off with, "Okay, you can stop asking, 'Why doesn't Mustang bolt Cruise-O-Matic behind the 271 solid-lifter V8?" It talks about the new option of an automatic with the High Performance 271ci V8 engine.

This is a newspaper advertisement we found for a limited edition 1966 Mustang painted in Thunderbird Silver Mink. This ad was placed by Biggio Ford of Steuenville, Ohio, in the April 11th, 1966 edition of the Weirton Daily Times of Weirton, West Virginia. It says the Mustang also comes with a black vinyl top. See the next page for the full advertisement. Here is what a Silver Mink Ford Galaxy looks like.

(from page 18 of the 1966 Collection) This is the full advertisement which included the Silver Mink Anniversary 1966 Limited Edition Mustang. It was as placed by Biggio Ford of Steuenville, Ohio, in the April 11th, 1966 edition of the Weirton Daily Times of Weirton, West Virginia. Silver Mink was a popular Mustang special order color, we've also found an advertisement for a used specially painted Silver Mink 1965 Mustang in the Ohio area at the same time. Another similar special order color for Mustangs of the time was 1964 Thunderbird Rose Beige. Other special order silver/pink/purple colors included the three shades used on the 1967 Tussy Sweepstakes Mustangs.

Choice of hardtop, convertible, 2+2 Six or V-8. Choice of wire-style wheel covers or standard. Special distinguishing emblem. Hurry in ... while they last!...

(from page 40 of the 1966 Collection) Mustang zooms past its first million ...starts its second million with a Special Mustang Sale says a print ad in the April 1st, 1966 edition of the Seattle Times. This is actually the first Sprint model with the 200cu inline 6-cycle engine, interior and exterior upgrades. The options listed as part of the sale include: wire-style wheels covers, accent paint stripe, chrome air cleaner cover, 5 dial instrument cluster, a lively 200cu six, sports steering wheel, 7-feature safety package, courtesy lights, and much more as the ad says. There is also mention of a Western Journeys 128 pages of breath-taking trips and western adventure in full color. This book was a special 1966 edition of Ford Times Magazine which was printed by Ford and came out monthly from 1908 to 1993.

This ad was run near the end of the month long Millionth Anniversary sale. The ad says, Mustang - a runaway best seller over right from the start! And today, over a million happy owners can tell you plenty about Mustang's winning ways. Lots of "extras" at no extra cost. Over 70 sports, luxury and performance options, including a 271-hp Cobra V-8. Any way you look at it, you're ahead in a Ford all the way? This ad also talks about a free Western Journeys 128 page booklet on travel and adventure in the West.


(from page 45 of the 1966 Collection) This is an April 7th, 1966 advertisement by Jackson Goldie Ford in the Oakland Tribune of Oakland, California. It shows one of the sales based on the colors available in 1966 including special order Playboy Pink and Thunderbird Honeydew Yellow. Sales like this were common in 1966, 1967 and 1968, mainly because of the availability of pink. We call it the Easter Collection of Colors.
