This page of the 1970 Mustang promotional booklet shows the transformation of Hubert Bailey from accountant to a sporty Mustang Mach 1 owner. A hot Mach 1 solved Hubert's problem. A standard 351 cube 250-hp 2V V-8 engine and 3-speed floor-mounted transmission performed the magic. Take a look at the unique front end, bold new grille lamps ... the sporty hood latches and new black hood treatment. While hood striping is available with black or dark green exterior colors. Notice the hefty, optional F70 belted bias-ply tires with raised white letters. E70's are Mach 1 standards. Both tire types give you better traction, greater stability. Sporty wheel covers, dual color-keyed racing mirrors and competition suspension with integral rear deck spoiler and more excitement. And you get your pick of these wild new Mustang colors: Vermilion, Grabber Green, Grabber Orange, Grabber Blue, Bright Yellow plus others. Inside, more standard niceties - like a console with woodtone applique, between soft, foam-filled knitted vinyl high-back bucket seats. And a deluxe 3-spoke Rim-Blow Steering Wheel. You can add go-power up to a 428 Cobra Jet Ram-Air 4V V-8 with "shaker" hood scoop. Boss 302! For special performance, choose the high-winding Boss 302, which features a 290-hp 4V V-8 with 4-speed floor-mounted manual transmission and Hurst Shifter. You'll also get competition suspension, front spoiler, power front disc brakes, high-back buckets. F60-15 belted BSW tires with raised white letters, quick-ratio steering, and more - standard. Great options, too, like a rear spoiler, Sport Slats, "shaker" scoop and Magnum 500 wheels.
