This is a Columbine Blue 1966 High Country Special Mustang convertible. The High Country Special was a package similar to the GT sports package but offered in the Colorado area. It included an engine upgrade, metal rocker panel trim, steel styled wheels, and a High Country Special side emblem. The 1966 High Country Special was limited to three special colors: Timberline Green, Columbine Blue, and Aspen Gold.

This custom 1966 Mustang hardtop racer is owned by Brad Cross. He says, "This has a modified 289, 4 speed. Competition suspension and brakes. Set up to meet SCCA vintage safety standards. I have ran this car since 1993, shifts at 8,400 rpm under track conditions and have never had any issues with this hard charging solid roller power plant, minus some wiring and many carb changes. Using the R model front end to move air where needed with a cowl hood to achieve max efficiency. Interior is a stock look, minus roll bar, belts and radio delete. I still utilize the factory shifter. I do drive short runs on the road but between the kidney killer suspension and 4 to 6 miles a gallon, it's a little tough but I FREAKING LOVE IT."

David Armocido sends us these photos of his 1966 St. Patrick's Day Special Mustang. David says, Mustang is a one of one(color) car that was painted a special green color for Harrold Ford of Sacramento, California for the 1966 St. Patrick Day Parade. Harrold Ford started in 1911 and is still operating today. Color has been verified by Window Sticker showing Special Paint, No Charge, family members of Ellsworth Harrold Ford, The original owner, and additional information obtained by the Marty Report Company in Arizona, and by the color delete on the VIN. I purchased the car from the second owner in November 2002. It was a father daughter project. This amazing car is our Attitude Of The Week starting June 30, 2019.
