(from page 6 of the 2001 Collection) This is the 270hp, 305 lb-ft of torque, 281 cubic inch, 4.6 liter, electronic fuel injected, single overhead cam, V8, Police Interceptor, special Bullitt engine. This power system has cast aluminum intake manifold, optimized alternator and pump pulley ratios, and high flow mufflers for increased power and aggressive performance sound making it a few horsepower over the standard GT powerplant.

(from page 11 of the 2001 Collection) This is the 2001 Mustang GT Bullitt hero promotional card. This car measures 8.5 by 11 inches and is folded to allow for 4 pages of print. Hero cards started with racing drivers and their cars and have been extended to promote sport cars from various manufacturers. This one features the first year of the Bullitt Mustang feature car which commemorates the 1968 fastback driven by Steve McQueen in the detective movie Bullitt, the scenes of which are shown at the top. In 2001, Highland Green was reserved only for this model; although the 2001 Bullitt also came in Black and True Blue. The original 1968 movie Bullitt Mustang was painted in 1968 Highland Green.

(from page 11 of the 2001 Collection) The first inside page of the 2001 Mustang GT Bullitt promotional card shows all three colors (dark highland green, true blue, and black). Highland Green is a Ford color that goes back to 1926 but in a lighter shade. The darker color came out in 1968. This page also references the significance of the car chase which featured two hit-men in a black 1968 Dodge Charger R/T 440 Magnum and Steve McQueen as Detective Lieutenant Frank Bullitt driving the modified 1968 Mustang. Its an amazing sequence, especially considering the actual speeds of over 110mph and McQueen doing most of the driving.

(from page 11 of the 2001 Collection) The second inside page of the 2001 Mustang GT Bullitt hero card shows the options of the Bullitt over the GT premium coupe. The standard 4.6L 2001 GT V8 engine is enhanced with a cast aluminum intake manifold, optimized alternator and pump pulley ratios, and high flow mufflers for increased power and sound. Other performance upgrades include better handing and brakes, as well as different rear quarter windows, side scoops, brushed aluminum fuel door, Bullitt badging, upgrade dash gauges, brushed aluminum interior accents, and dark charcoal leather trimmed seats. The Bullitt upgrade was a $3695 option over the premium GT.

(from page 2 of the 2008 Collection) Todd Weddle owns this Highland Green 2008 Mustang Bullitt coupe. He purchased in in May of 2008. He says that he is waiting on custom plates with car's new name - 'PoisnIV'. This was our featured Attitude Of The Week Mustang for the week starting 6-29-08. The Bullitt had many changes from the standard Mustang. They started with a GT Premium coupe and added the exclusive Highland Green paint (you could get black too), removed the spoiler, changed the upper front grille, changed to exclusive 18-inch Euro-Flange Bullitt wheels with a charcoal satin finish, and installed a 3.73 limited slip rear, dark gray brake calipers, a Bullitt faux fuel cap, and 3.5 inch exhaust tips. They also made changes under the hood and on the interior.

(from page 2 of the 2008 Collection) The 2008 Mustang Bullitt has the 4.6L V8 engine from the GT, but with a couple of changes: Ford Racing Power Pack (CAI), a high performance engine calibration, Ford Racing strut tower brace with Bullitt emblem, and this engine breathes out through a modified H pipe.

(from page 2 of the 2008 Collection) The instrument panel has that engine trim pattern. This is available only on the Bullitt edition. The Bullitt also comes with extra aluminum interior accents - the ball shifter, Bullitt sill plates, and pedal covers.

(from page 2 of the 2008 Collection) Todd sends in a couple of more pictures of his Highland Green 2008 Mustang Bullitt coupe with his new 'PoisnIV' license plates.
