(from page 1 of the 1989 Collection) This Almond 1989 Mustang LX hatchback is owned by James and Lisa Gram of Washington and was our Attitude Of The Week for the week starting August 1, 2010. I saw this unusual almond-yellow factory painted color from a long distance away at the 2010 Mustang Round-up car show in Bellevue, Washington. Lisa says its been a great car and drives it every day to work.

(from page 1 of the 1989 Collection) Rear right view of James and Lisa's almond-yellow 1989 Mustang LX hatchback. This car is an everyday driver, so its not perfect; but it is still a very good looking car. You can see a bit of the yellow coming through on the rear bumper. All the original front and rear bumpers were molded with a yellow fiberglass material, so if you see this color under the paint, its a sign that the bumpers are original.

(from page 1 of the 1989 Collection) View of a 1989, Ford, Mustang, A-code, 140 cubic inch (2.3 liter), single-overhead cam, 4-cylinder engine originally rated at 90 horsepower (at 3800rpm). Lisa and James keeps this engine very clean!

(from page 5 of the 1989 Collection) Cabernet Red 1989 Mustang 5.0 LX hatchback with the 225hp (at 4200rpm), 5.0 liter (302ci), high output, V8 engine. When the 5.0L V8 was ordered with the LX, it came with the 10-spoke alloy wheels, dual exhaust, the 5.0 fender emblem, and tachometer.

(from page 5 of the 1989 Collection) The 1989 Mustang E-code, 225hp (at 4200rpm), 5.0 liter (302ci), high output, V8 engine. Did Jim O'Connor, the Ford Division president, sign this at the factory?

(from page 8 of the 1989 Collection) Almond 1989 Mustang LX hatchback with a tan interior and a 5.0 liter engine under the hood. This one is optioned with air conditioning, cruise control, power locks, power windows, and a cassette tape player!

(from page 8 of the 1989 Collection) Almond 1989 Mustang LX 5.0L hatchback, right side view. See the 5.0 numbers on the front fender just behind the front wheel opening? That's for the big 5.0 Liter V8 engine under the hood.

(from page 8 of the 1989 Collection) Almond 1989 Mustang LX 5.0L hatchback, left rear view. It has a third brakelight in the spoiler. When you step on the brakes, you wind up with a triangle of red lights in the rear. This was suppose to wake up drivers behind the car to help them see that the car was slowing down. Did it help? Probably. Maybe a fourth one would be even better!

(from page 8 of the 1989 Collection) Around the rear is a dual exhaust setup. This was standard on the V8 engines.

(from page 8 of the 1989 Collection) Like many 89 Mustangs, this one has the upgraded 5.0 liter V8.
