(10 photos of a 1973 Light Pewter Silver Mach 1 Mustang Fastback) Light Pewter 1973 Mach 1 Mustang owned by Bill Pletcher from Lebanon, Pennsylvania. This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting March 17, 2013. The body restoration was done in 2011 at The Auto Hut in Annville, Pennsylvania. During the restoration these items were added; front chin spoiler, hood pins (twist type), painted hood blackout, black rear window louvers, full center console with clock, radiator overflow tank, and two sets of wheels - 15" slotted aluminum (shown) and 15" magnum 500s. Performance items include; original performance 351ci Cleveland 2V V8(rebuilt 6/2/97 at 131,125 miles), ram air, Edelbrock performer intake with 4bbl 600 cfm carb, Petronix ignition, Hedman longtube headers, dual exhaust with Flowmaster 40 series mufflers, Competition suspension, power steering, power front disc brakes, and FMX Cruise-O-Matic transmission (rebuilt Nov 2004).

This was our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting April 24, 2011. Tom purchased it in Ohio and had it shipped to Pennsylvania. He has made some cosmetic and engine upgrades over the past couple years. The Mach-1 has a black interior, a 351ci Cleveland, and an automatic transmission.

This car has been repainted, Grabber Orange was not a color offered in 1973. The black vinyl roof really matches the black striped hood, black front air dam, and black rear spoiler.

This is not an original Cobra color combination. Black Cobras only came with gold stripes. Other color factory combinations included: white with blue, green, or red stripes; and blue with white stripes. In 1978 more colors were offered on the Cobra.

Lisa tells us more, "I fell in love with this car in 1975 when my neighbor purchased a 1974 coupe. At a local car cruise one night, one pulled in and it was for sale. Well, as the story goes, my husband and I bought it. It needed a lot of work! My little Plain Jane 2+2 4-cylinder, 4-speed red Mustang turned into a hot powerful V-8 smoking Cobra. It gets a lot of attention wherever we go. People are always asking if my husband paints for a living, and I say 'No, just little red Mustangs that need resurrected!' We drive my little darling every chance we get. After 42 years, I have the car of my dreams"

It has a 302L V8 engine and a manual transmission. Josh tells us, "I bought the car about two years ago locally off craigslist. It was repainted, the original body kit wasn't installed, and in very poor condition. The original Flofit interior was destroyed. It had no heatercore. The valvecovers leaked like crazy right on the factory headers. The wheels were spray painted black. BUT it did have all the correct Saleen pieces to restore. The car was all stock save a set of mufflers and a Centerforce clutch. A year long build consisted of a full interior restoration (seats ,headliner, doorpanels, dash) Exterior wet sand and buff. Restoration of the original 16x7 and 16x8 ARE basketweave wheels (30hrs labor alone). The car is #399 of 708 made in 1988 and 1 of 5 made in the red/beige/gold combination. Possibly a 1 of 1 considering the stripe delete option."
