(from page 23 of the 1969 Collection) Check out this Boss 429. Steve bought it from his cousin after selling his 1968 Torino 390 Convertible and 1969 Fairlane Cobra.

(from page 1 of the 1970 Collection) Competition Yellow 1970 Mustang Boss 302 fastback owned by Jon Jackson from Illinois. This was our featured Attitude Of The Week for March 16th, 2008. Jon's Boss has Magnum 500 wheels, Boss stripes, a shaker hood scoop, rear window louvers, and front and rear spoilers. That's Jon inside.

(from page 1 of the 1970 Collection) The shaker hood scoop is attached to the air cleaner, not the hood. It shakes as the engine is revved - that's how it gets it's name.

(from page 1 of the 1970 Collection) Under the hood of a Boss 302 is a 302 cubic inch 290hp V8 engine with a 4-barrel carburetor. This one is in excellent shape.

(from page 1 of the 1970 Collection) Jon Jackson's Competition Yellow 1970 Mustang Boss 302 fastback was our Attitude of the Month for January 2009 and our featured Mustang on our calendar for that month.

(from page 32 of the 1970 Collection) Competition Yellow 1970 Mustang Boss 302 fastback with a white interior. This car has 75-80% original paint, all original interior and the original engine/trans. Factory options include electric clock, shaker hood scoop, sport interior, console, AM radio, Decor group, and rear deck spoiler.

(from page 32 of the 1970 Collection) Competition Yellow 1970 Mustang Boss 302 fastback, left front view. The rain was really beginning to pick up now. I had an umbrella in one hand and the camera in the other.

(from page 32 of the 1970 Collection) Here is a close-up of the Boss 302 lettering on the unique Boss stripe. The Boss 302 came with the 302ci engine.

(from page 32 of the 1970 Collection) Here is a close-up of the shaker hood scoop. The rain drops look cool on it. Why is it a "shaker"? Because, when the engine is running this hood scoop shakes because it is connected to the air cleaner of the engine, it's not connected to the hood.

(from page 32 of the 1970 Collection) Lots of flat black paint - on the rear window louvers, top part of the trunk lid, rear spoiler, and rear taillight panel.

(from page 14 of the 1971 Collection) Take a look at this awesome Grabber Lime Boss 351 Mustang fastback. It has the flat black hood and side stripes. It was probably the brightest car at the 2009 All Ford show at Uftring Ford in East Peoria, Illinois.

(from page 14 of the 1971 Collection) It says Boss 351 on the trunk lid.

(from page 14 of the 1971 Collection) Here's a red 1971 Mustang Boss 351 fastback. The owner closed the hood a bit due to the rain. The hood locks are up.

(from page 14 of the 1971 Collection) Hood locks were used by racers. They were lighter than the front latch. Racers would pull out the front latch and install hood locks to reduce weight. They also use to put them on the other corners by the windshield. This way the heavy hinges did not have to be used. In the case of these cars, the hood locks were used in addition to the front latch.

(from page 14 of the 1971 Collection) Here's a cool close-up of the Ram Air hood decal on the NASA/NACA style hood scoop. The rain drops are the cool part. This car has a good layer of wax or polish on it.

(from page 14 of the 1971 Collection) We caught up with this red 1971 Mustang Boss 351 fastback in Bloomington, Illinois at a show run by the Central Illinois Mustang Association. Last time we saw this Mustang, it was in the rain. This time it's in the sun!
