(1 photo of a 1964 Vintage Burgundy Mustang Hardtop) This is a one owner Vintage Burgundy 1964 Mustang hardtop. Roy Ratliff purchased it new on May 29, 1964 and still owns it today! It was our featured Attitude Of The Week photo for the week starting 2-15-09. Roy tells us more, "It came with a center console and Ralley-Pac. I rebuilt the motor in 2007 installing all new internals and had the carb rebuilt by Pony Carbs. In the beginning it was my hot rod, now it's my cherished ride. I will never be for sale as long as I live."

"I bought this Mustang in 1978 for $400 with around 38000 miles on it. She had an 'Earl Sheib' $19.95 chalky red paint job with spray painted stripes along the hood and body-side contours and a street car bell mounted under the car below the driver's seat. It had been outdoors for years. With my sister and I both taking classes on body, paint and upholstery, as well as my father having a repair shop, we managed to paint it back to its original color, sew new upholstery, and replace the top in about two years. It was beautiful and remained completely stock for the next 35 years except for a four row radiator, front disc brakes and a set of '68 GT500KR wheels. Eventually, in 1998, it got a new paint job (free) from a body shop I had been referring work to, got some new tires and the wheels polished (also for free) from a local tire and wheel shop where we had wheel and tire
packages installed on new Mercedes and Volvos from the dealership where I
worked. A couple of years ago, I decided to make a 'tribute' car or 'tribute' to Carol Shelby at which time, my wife deemed it the Wanna-be, resulting in the GT 1AB stripe and license plate. (won-a-b). I added stripes, tribar headlamps, engine dress up kit and a 'euro Brace' and Monte Carlo bar under the hood. It's never been wrecked, lives in then garage and hasn't been washed in two years or so. I think it's one of the best looking color combinations ever made and people everywhere I go say so too. Still
has the original 260 V8 2bbl and the generator and will be going strong for many years to come!"

This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting November 10, 2013. This Mustang has its original 289ci V8 and a manual transmission. Joe adds, "I bought this fastback 15 years ago and it was a rusted out mess. My wife and I just finished a total restoration. We did all the work on the car with exception of the engine rebuild. It is a 289 fastback with 4-speed top loader. We have attended six car shows so far and have won four."

It is owned by Robert Hernandez and is our Attitude Of The Week starting September 8th, 2019. Robert says, My dad had a 1964 1/2 coupe when I was growing up and when my dad passed this past December, I wanted to find a first gen mustang. I had seen this Mustang on Offerup with horrible pictures so I decided to take a look. The car was in good condition, running, new paint, all new chrome, it just needed a tuneup and some love. it had been sitting in a warehouse for 25 years... I have me dream car that reminds of my dad every time I drive her. Check out the other amazing photos in this set.
(1 photo of a 1966 Candy Apple Red Mustang Convertible) "Aunt Myrna, if you ever want to sell your Mustang, let us know." This is what Allan and Nancy Eisentraut told their aunt Myrna of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. Myrna bought the car new in 1966, drove it for years, then stored it in her garage for 16 years, untouched. Finally, one day in 1986, Allan and Nancy, got a call from Myrna. She wanted to sell them the car. Allan went there with his mechanic son. They pulled the Mustang out of the garage with the tires sliding on the ground. They were froze up with rust. After pounding the rust off the wheels to get them to turn; then taking the spark plugs out, pouring oil into the spark plug holes; and pouring gas into the carburetor, the Mustang started up - surprisingly, even with the old battery. It was quite rusty and a body man told them not to wait too long to have it taken car of. Within a year, the car had been repainted. Everything is still original on the car, right down to the plaid carpet in the trunk. This was our featured Attitude Of The Week picture for 8-26-07.

This was our featured Attitude Of The Week photo for the week starting July 12, 2009. Mike says, "I got it in 2001. I added a K&N air filter. It has a vintage correct Shelby intake with dual quad set up (Carter's). It looks and sounds great!"

This was our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting July 24, 2011. It has it's original 289ci V8 engine and an automatic transmission. Mark tells us more, "I purchased this Mustang convertible GT in 2009. It was imported into Australia from North Carolina in 2006 by the person I purchased it from. The car has been restored to a very high level. It is an A code 4V motor with air conditioning, power steering, front disc brakes, power roof and rally pack. It is a beautiful car to drive and the color combination between the exterior and interior catches a lot of attention. The car won a sponsors award at the 2010 Australian Mustang Nationals in Adelaide and has been featured in Australian Mustang and Ford magazine."

Scott emailed us that we had an error in our available paints for the 1966 Mustang by leaving out Vintage Burgundy. His car came from the factory in this color and has the X paint code on the door tag to prove it. So Vintage Burgundy was available from the first year of the Mustang through 1967.

This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting December 2, 2012. It has the 200ci six cylinder engine (original) with an automatic transmission. Brian bought it for $500. It had a rough interior that was in three shades of white, gray and black. It had no wheel covers. Brian restored this Mustang himself.

It has a 289 HiPo V8 engine and a manual transmission. This one has the GT fender emblem and GT rocker stripes. Alessandro is not sure if it's an original GT. Allessandro says, "It is a special export unit arrived in Italy in 1966. It has the original 1966 license plate TORINO city. It has the original odometer in Km /h and special handling suspension (export brace)."

This Mustang is owned by Johnny Walker from Forrest, Illinois. He had this story to share, "I purchased my 67 from an eighteen year old for $500 in 1990. I know that one of the front fenders came from a 68, and also the driver's door appears to be a replacement (signs of three different paint colors). It has a 289 with a 2-barrel carb. Is a 3-speed on the floor. It has Gabriel HyJacker air shocks, 70s series tires on Superior wire-spoke rims. I'm gradually changing the interior from red to black. I plan to install headers with dual exhaust, using Summit Patriot mufflers. Other plans include; K&N filters, Yamaha AM/FM cassette deck, Cobra 29XLR CB radio with K-40, small chrome mud flaps, and a sequential taillight kit. All in due time as money will allow. Someday it will get a new paint job but, the color is not determined at this time."

This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting December 29, 2013. Shaun shares, "Shelby #258 was built at Ford's San Jose California plant on December 9, 1966. It was sold by JD Ball Ford in Miami on January 18, 1967. The car remained in Miami until 1986. I have owned it since 1997. The Shelby was an original painted Lime Gold Metallic and equipped with a 428 Police Interceptor. The car was painted red and the 427 installed in 1985. It has power steering/brakes, electronic ignition, under dash R-134 A/C, and original 200 cubic inch 6 cylinder with automatic transmission. Not a Daily driver. Taken to car shows and cruises only."

It has it's original 289ci V8 engine and an automatic transmission. The automatic gives it this one year only special GTA model designation. Pat won this Mustang in a raffle back in 2005.
(1 photo of a 1967 Aspen Red Mustang Sky Country Special Hardtop) Richard sends us this set of photos of his 1967 Ski Country Special Mustang hardtop in special order Aspen Red. Richard is the third owner and thinks the car was special ordered by Jess Hunter Ford of Pueblo Colorado for his wife. This car is missing its trunk top luggage rack (supposed ski rack) but it does have a rear mounted Ski Country Special badge. This amazing car is our Attitude Of The Week starting November 6, 2022. This Aspen Red special order paint was only a production paint as Ember Red on the 1958 Ford Edsel, but is most famous for its use on the 1963 Gibson Firebird electric guitar. This car also does not have owner added hood stripes which our other example has (sorry Greenlight diecast model car company who mistakenly put stripes on there examples of the 1967 Sky Country Special).
