It was sold by JD Ball Ford in Miami on January 18, 1967. The car remained in Miami until 1986. I have owned it since 1997. This Shelby has it's 7-inch driving lights mounted close together in the front grille. Others have them mounted farther apart in end ends of the grille. It depended on the state's laws which were installed.

(from page 40 of the 1967 Collection) This is a rare one. It's a 1967 Mustang Shelby GT-500 hardtop! It was the first and only one built by Shelby - called "Little Red". Although more 1967 hardtops where built by Shelby, it was the inspiration for the 1968 California Special. This GT-500 had twin Paxton Superchargers on a 428ci engine. It is reported to have been crushed as most prototypes were.
(from page 40 of the 1967 Collection) This 1967 Shelby GT-500 hardtop even has a black vinyl top. Vinyl tops where hugely popular in the 60s and 70s.
