Deep Violet (Thistle) 1997 Mustang GT convertible owned by Karla Ford from Flat Rock, Michigan. Karla comments, "I wanted since it rolled off the line. It took a few years and now we have a project car. She sure draws a lot of attention being the only purple pony around. There will be no major modifications till the body is back to its original luster."

A beautiful Deep Violet 1997 Mustang GT coupe with the 4.6 liter V8 engine. With 2,462 Deep Violet Mustangs ordered, this is not the rarest 1997 color. That honor goes to Autumn Orange with 1,519 Mustangs, and Aztec Gold with 1,135 Mustangs.

This 1997 Mustang Saleen S-281 Cobra convertible speedster is painted Extreme Rainbow. Extreme Rainbow is a $11,000+ special color that Saleen offered many years. The paint process was 4-coats dark blue, color sanded, 3-coats of Extreme Rainbow, color sanded again, followed by an additional 2-coats of Extreme Rainbow, and then 4-coats of urethane clear. The finish then received a final wet-sand by hand and polishing, resulting in the exceptional show quality finish achieved. This is Saleen factory #173 vehicle for 1997. Besides the unusual paint, this one was also ordered with a Supercharger!
