(1 photo of a 1965 Dynasty Green Mustang Hardtop) This Dynasty Green 1965 Mustang hardtop is owned by Hayley M. of New York and was our Attitude Of The Week for November 15, 2009. Hayley says, I just purchased from a couple who bought it in Utah 10 years ago. When they got it, several beehives were present in the headlights and engine compartment. They went a little crazy with the color choices under the hood, but retained the original color. All I know about it is what the previous owner knew, which wasn't all that much. While it's not perfect, it's a classic that deserves to be well taken care of, and I intend to do so for many years to come. My only addition has been the pirate flag on the antenna.

Attitude Of The Week for the week starting February 22, 2015. This GT has its original 289ci 4V V8 engine and an automatic transmission. Steve tells us more,
"I bought the car in December 2013 from a muscle car dealer in Illinois. The car had been consigned from an owner in California. Many records came with the car which was produced originally in San Jose. The records show two long term owners in Northern California (San Jose area) but I haven't yet been able to trace owners from the 60s and 70s. The car was in need of some restoration and so far I have installed new convertible top, new carpet, new electrical harnesses in engine bay and under dash. The seats only required some cleanup, but I did replace the foam. The car came with Magnums which were wrong for 1965 so I replaced those with 14-inch styled steel wheels and new dual red line radial tires from Coker. The paint was great - only required some polishing and waxing. The undercarriage was restored before I bought the car and is very clean. The Mustang is a true GT and drives great! The top is even powered. It's a keeper."

"It is a real GT and has the optional deluxe Pony Interior. We bought this car in 2018, from a guy in Austin Texas and had it shipped to Denmark. He had owned the car for 6 years, but only had interest in the car as an investment.
The owner that had the car between 1991 and 2012 had the car restored.
The car has 90% original sheet metal and 90% original interior which is really something special. The car has lived most its life in Louisville Kentucky. From 1965 to 2012. Its a high optioned car which include: A code engine, C4 automatic transmission, Interior decor group, full length console, GT Equipment Group, Rally Pac, Factory Air conditioner, Back up lamps, power steering, heavy duty battery, 2 speed wipers, rear seat belts, and inside day/nite mirror."

It was our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting January 2nd, 2011. The owner comments, "It had been sitting for 4+ years on four flats with an unmolested deluxe interior and exterior. It had a 450 HP dual carbed 302 with a Tremec 6-speed and Total Control Products (TCP) for coil-overs. I got it home, changed all fluids, and added a set of Vari-Shock dual adjustable shocks. A new battery was needed, so a Gel cell red top was added. It was already relocated to the trunk. After a few cranks it fired right up. I ran it down to the muffler shop and purchased 2-1/4-inch pipe with Flow Masters. I drove vehicle for three years until a complete (down to frame) restoration was done. The tear down revealed a dead mice nest in headliner and others in the rear wheel wells. I thought there was an odd smell. The color is Sauterne and is as close as one can get, with modern paints, to the original with the Wimbledon White stripes. The wheels are original style and size. Two sets were purchased and used to make one set that is wider and offset. The semi-slick Toyo R888 are perfectly sized at 235/50/15 in the rear and 205/50/15 up front. All four corners have disk brakes, SSBC up front and the large stock ones that came on the 9-inch Lincoln Versi rear end. The differential is a built with 3.80 gears, connected using an aluminum drive shaft. The steering is done with Flaming River components and a sub-frame kit welded underneath. This car is solid, and has been done very very well."

We saw this car at the 2011 Mustang Roundup show in Bellevue, Washington last month! The matching dog carrier was there, but we didn't see the dog - Mustang Bonny. This was our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting August 14, 2001. Al tells us more, "We have had the car four years now. It was fairly complete when we got it. Converted it to GT-350 specs, had it lowered all around with Curry rear traction bars, and added fiberglass hood, front, and rear with ducktail spoiler. The interior is now all leather with green piping and seatbelts. The engine was rebuilt to Hi-Po specs and C4 with a shift kit."

David says, Mustang is a one of one(color) car that was painted a special green color for Harrold Ford of Sacramento, California for the 1966 St. Patrick Day Parade. Harrold Ford started in 1911 and is still operating today. Color has been verified by Window Sticker showing Special Paint, No Charge, family members of Ellsworth Harrold Ford, The original owner, and additional information obtained by the Marty Report Company in Arizona, and by the color delete on the VIN. I purchased the car from the second owner in November 2002. It was a father daughter project. This amazing car is our Attitude Of The Week starting June 30, 2019.

This was our Attitude Of The Week for September 21st, 2008. Corey writes: I just pulled the car out after ten years of storage. My mom was the original owner, who bought it when she was in her 20s. Lots of original parts still on it (glass, chrome, California smog parts, wheel covers, etc.). This was a daily driver for a number of years but remains in pretty good condition.

Jeff found this amazing car with 28K original miles on it in its original special order Olive Green paint and options as part of the West Coast Rainbow of Colors promotion which featured custom colors and upgrades. Jeff writes,
I wanted to give you an update and send some new pictures of Maggie Mae. She is on the road and doing great! I entered her in the 2011 PNWMC Mustang II's R a Mustang Too Spring Show n Shine and had a blast sharing her story with others and listening to the comments like 'I didn't know they came in that color' or 'Look at that, it has a bench seat'. Over all I would have to say she was very appreciated by others as she was awarded 2nd place in the '67 - '68 Coupe Class. It was a proud day. Now I am enjoying showing her off and eager for September to arrive and with it the 4 day International Mustang Show in Spokane.

Rainbow of Colors promotional Mustang which is also a Branded Special. This olive green is one of 13 special colors which a new Mustang owner could order along with several upgrades in the west coast Rainbow of Colors promotion. Also during this time dealers could add a Branded Special emblem to further promote a car. Amazingly this car is both! This was the first Olive Green Rainbow of Colors promotional Mustang that found us. A few months ago, Wolfgang Kohrn of
ponysite.de, contacted us about finding a unique originally painted, olive green, 1968, Mustang in the Netherlands which had all the options and special order data to indicate that it was the first car found of this unique color. This is that car which is also featured on
Wolfgang's site. So far we've only found 9 names of the 13 colors of the promotion. This green was not one of them, so we've been temporarily calling it Olive Green. If you know the official color name,
let us know. About the same time, Jeff from Oregon, emailed us on his newest purchase of an
olive green 1968 Mustang which turns out to be a sister car to Robbie's because the share the same DSO order area, special order number, and therefore ordered by the same dealer which was, Lou Gerard Motors, in Redding, California. The California Special options group included a Shelby style decklid with a spoiler, unique taillights, and a blacked-out grille with out Mustang identification. In the CS option the GT was purposely missing from the normal GT wheelcovers. A similar option package was available in Colorado called the High Country Special.

Rainbow of Colors was a west coast primarily 1968 sales promotion which offered new Mustang owners many sporty upgrades as well as one of 13 or 14 special order bright colors. Many of these cars were base models. New information on Russ Davis shows that this special order may have been for a racing promotion since the several race car drivers were salesmen including Gas Ronda with his famous brightly colored Cobra Jet racer.
