Light Gray Smoke 1989 Mustang GT with sunroof, gray leather seats, and 1991+ aftermarket Mustang GT wheels. This car needs a bit of paint touch-up, but it does show what the original smoke color looks like. The solid grille and aerodynamic side skirts was introduced to the Mustang GT in 1987 and continued through 1993, check out information on all years of GT Mustangs.

1989 Light Gray Smoke Mustang GT, right side view. You can just begin to see the most significant visual exterior difference introduced in the 1989 Mustang GT, the cheese grater rear light covers which were on all Mustang GT's through 1993.

Here is a good look at the color matched cheese grater rear tail light covers. This rear spoiler was also only available on the GT hatchback. The GT convertible had no spoiler and the standard hatchback had a smaller wing type spoiler.

This Dark Gray 1989 Mustang is a LX 5.0L Sport which offers much of the performance of the Mustang GT but in the LX body style for the 2-door coupe, hatchback, and convertible. 1989 was the first year of this special model which was offered on the base level Mustang up to 1993. This amazing example has only 9,000 miles on it.

The 1989 LX 5.0L Sport included the 225hp 5.0L V8 engine, GT suspension (pressurized front struts and rear Quadra-shock), 14.7:1 constant ratio power rack-and-pinion steering, traction-lok axle, 5-speed manual transmission, 15x7 inch 10-hole cast aluminum wheels, performance radial tires, and the hatchback/convertible received articulated front bucket seats.
