Okay what's different in this picture? Two things are different. The paint is lighter and its wearing a set of 10-spoke Shelby wheels. Arlie Photo-Shopped (tinted) the photo to more correctly match the shade of Gulfstream Aqua that's on the car. This is a difficult paint to photograph. Arlie also edited in the wheels to see what they looked like. That's much easier than physically trying them on! The only give-away on the editing is that both wheels have the exact same lighting. Arlie has since changed to the 10-spoke Shelby wheels for real.

Here is that C-code 289ci V8 engine. This is the smallest of the V8 engines offered in the 1968 Mustang with 195 horsepower.

Arlie comments, "I converted to a deluxe interior with both consoles but since it's a driver the original lower console is in storage (no cup holders!)"

This probably a one of a kind Sierra Blue 1968 Rainbow of Colors promotional GT Mustang hardtop. It has a black vinyl roof, aftermarket wheels, black side C stripe, vented hood, fog lamps, metal rocker panel trim, and a 390ci V8 engine. Scott Johnson's family bought this car in the mid 1970's from a local dealer, probably only one other owner. During the 70s the car was repainted to a match of its original factory color. Scott says that everyone thought that this could not have been a factory color since nothing like it is on the 1968 Mustang color charts until he recently ordered a Marti Report which showed the car as one of the Rainbow of Color promotional GT hardtops and it was painted Sierra Blue. The 1968-69 Rainbow of Colors promotion offered 13 special colors, one of them was Sierra Blue. This amazing car was our
Attitude Of The Week for November 23, 2008. See our
Rainbow of Colors special information page for more information on the information we have been able to put together on all 13 colors.
