Black 2008 Mustang Shelby GT-500 King of the Road coupe with ebony (flat black) stripes. The stripes are difficult to see in this shot. The GT500KR features a 540 horsepower 5.4 liter supercharged V8 with Ford Racing Power Pack upgrade, 3.73:1 rear axle ratio, short throw shifter and souped up suspension. Other unique exterior features are a carbon composite hood, 18-inch wheels, Shelby lettering on the hood, hood pins, and special 40th Anniversary badging. The first Shelby GT500KR Mustang came out in 1968.

Black 2008 Mustang Shelby GT500KR coupe, left front view showing off that Shelby King of the Road iconic vented hood. Love those ebony stripes. I have a 2008 Shelby GT500 with the same colors and surprisingly the stripes can be seen from a long way off. The ebony stripes reflect light differently than the black body paint allowing them to be seen in the sun from several hundred yards away. Quite amazing.

The big difference in the dash over the standard 2008 GT500 is the short throw shifter with white handle. There is also a GT500KR badge between the center vents.
