Twelve early production 1964 Mustangs where converted for use on this ride. They were 5F08F cars sequenced 100003 through 100014. Later in the year, the cars were removed and replaced with 65 models. They were converted back to stock and sold used. Some are known to still exist today.

Yes, Black paint was a special order in 1973 - as black was not in the normal line-up of available paints. David adds, "There are traces of side stripes that might have been part of special order. It has the six digit DSO code (48-7359) and not paint color in door sticker. It sat in a garage for 13 years until I got it. It was Zebart coated so it is in pretty good shape." It was delivered to Jerry Bielfield Co Dealership in Detroit, Michigan. Factory options included the black power top with glass backlite, instrument group, E70x14 belted white sidewall tires, power steering, and tinted glass. The car was built in May of 1973.
