(2 photos of a 1968 Sunlit Gold Mustang Hardtop) Check out this Sunlit Gold 1968 Mustang hardtop. It's owned by David McDowall from Seattle, Washington. It has it's original 289ci V8 engine and an automatic transmission. David purchased it in Woodinville, Washington. He is the 3rd owner. He's wondering if its could possibly be an Oregon/Washington "Golden Nugget Northwest" dealer special. It doesn't have the DSO of 1111 which is on the other Golden Nugget cars. It does have the same paint and trim codes as the Golden Nugget Special but it was built one month before the earliest batch we have found. It may have been the inspiration for the special?

I've had every nut and bolt out and know the car intimately now. I managed to track down the previous owner in California, who was very surprised to find the car had made it downunder and he was able to fill in some of its history. It recently attended the Mustang 50th Anniversary Celebrations in Geelong Australia, after driving it halfway across the country and back."

It appears to be an Eastertime Coral 1968 Mustang "Color Of the Month" special edition hardtop. The Mustang still has it's original 289ci V8 engine and an automatic transmission. Reg Henderson just picked it up on March 27th. Reg is asking for help identifying the original owner. Here is what he knows, "This car started out in Dearborn shipped to 'DICK MASHETER FORD' in Columbus, Ohio. I don't know who the first buyer was, but I do know that he sold the car in 1989 to John N. White in Columbus Ohio, and he sold the car to Edward J. Peksa of Greensburg Pennsylvania in 1998, it was then sold to Kenneth Lipyance of Churchill Pennsylvania. Then it was purchased by Christian Nuss of Alliance, Nebraska in 2005. It has quite an extensive maintenance record for this car. What I would really like to find is the original owner." (2 photos of a 1968 Caribbean Coral Mustang Rainbow Of Colors Hardtop) Under this black paint is Caribbean Coral paint. It's a 'Rainbow of Colors' Special edition 1968 Mustang. It's owned by Brandon Salisbury. Brandon is 16 and is planning to restore the car with his Father. The Marti report states that it is a Special Paint Coral, Ford #WT9012. It was built in San Jose (8R) on 3/8/68 and ordered through the Salt Lake City DSO (73) with special order# 3061. It was sold through Gooding Ford in Gooding, Idaho. This paint was also offered on the 'Color of the Month' special edition Mustangs. This Coral Mustang was built about a month too early to be considered a 'Color of the Month' special edition. The Coral paint was an April color. The special order number on this Mustang is close to 3059 which we know is part of the 'Rainbow of Colors' promotion. We believe most of the 'Color of the Month' cars came from the Metuchen New Jersey factory, and we have never found an advertisement for the 'Color of the Month' promotion from the Salt Lake City area.
