1995 Mustang was a carryover from 1994 with two body styles: a 2 door coupe and a convertible. There were however a GTS and Cobra R special model added to the base V6, the GT V8, and the SVT Cobra V8. The GTS had the GT V8 engine, GT transmission, GT rear axle, and 16.5 inch sport wheels. The Cobra R came only in Crystal White and was equipped with Ford's 300hp, 5.4L, racing V8 engine and better handling. Some 1995 convertibles received the optional hardtop.

Ford built a stripped down version of their Mustang GT in 1995. It was called the GTS. The GTS named option was only available in 1995. It continued as the 248A package through 1998. The GTS was a the powertrain of a GT with the characteristics of the Base V6 model. They came without spoilers or fog lamps. They had the same interior as the V6 except for the instruments. They did have the GT badging on the fenders and embossed into the rear bumper. A total of 6370 units were built in 1995.

In 1995, Ford made 250 Cobra R coupes. The huge 5.8L (351 cubic inch) V8 is so big that the standard hood did not work. A special taller fiberglass hood was created. This baby was built for racing. It has a factory 20-gallon fuel cell, a engine oil cooler, and a power steering cooler. All Cobra R Mustangs were painted Crystal White with tan colored interiors. See our 1995 SVT Cobra Data Explorer for more information.

Suspension modes included: progressive-rate front and rear coil springs; Racecraft shocks, and struts urethane swaybar bushings; strut tower braces, four-wheel disc five-lug brakes; and massive 18 inch wheels. Roush Mustang
|
The 1995 Roush Mustang was one of the first years of this special edition although the parts could be added to the 1994 Mustang as well. From 1995 through 1997 the Roush performance parts were added by dealers and third parties. In 1997, Roush started to perform the upgrades themselves. In 1995, the Roush came in three levels: the mostly cosmetic Stage 1, the Stage 2 with handling performance upgrades, and the Stage 3 with engine power upgrades. There was also a ported aluminum Ford GT40 heads option for the Stage 3. Prices were listed as $3,185 for the Stage 1 (air dam, wing, skirts, valance panel, 17 inch wheels, graphics), +$2,105 for the Stage 2 (springs, shocks, antiroll bars, exhaust), and +$2,783 for the Stage 3 (94hp upgrade (309hp total) to the 5.0L V8, bolt-on intake manifold, cowl induction hood). Each stage required purchase of the lower ones.
