Data for 1973:

1973 Mustang Body Styles:

1973 was the last of the classic Mustang fastbacks, hardtops, and convertibles. Convertible Mustangs didn't return until 1983. The 1973 grille was designed with larger "egg crate" holes, the turn-signals where integrated into the grille, and the headlight and taillight bezels where chrome. The front and rear bumpers were redesigned to handle the required Federal standards and the front bumper color matched. The engine choices of 1972 were back but with slightly better performance due to overall suspension and handling changes. The 1973 model year marks the end of the classic muscle Mustang with the last of the large engines and Mach 1 option.
