Saleen
The 2005 Saleen conversions were done on the new body style Mustang GTs. You could get the base S-281 model, the S-281 S/C supercharged version, and the S-281 E "Extreme" model. The first two could be ordered in the coupe or convertible body styles. The Extreme model only came in the coupe. They came standard with the Saleen Quick Ratio 5-speed manual transmission. A 5-speed automatic was optional. Suspension included MacPerson strut, 1.38 inch front and 0.79 inch rear stabilizer bars, urethane pivot bushings, and a live rear axle.

This is a black 2005 Saleen Mustang S281 coupe (#489). Steve Saleen has been modifying Mustangs for the street and track since 1984. Saleen Inc. makes four different versions for 2005; the S281 - a 3 valve 335hp like this one; the S281 SC - a 465hp supercharged version; S281 Extreme - a 550hp version with a special Saleen-built V8 engine; and the S281 Scenic Roof - any of the above versions with a glass full-roof panel. Okay, I guess that is six versions.

This was our Attitude Of The Week for the week starting June 6, 2010. This photo was taken at the 29th Annual Central Illinois Ford Day Show and Swap on June 6, 2010 in Bloomington, Illinois.

Legend Lime 2005 Saleen Mustang coupe owned by Steve Bishop from Redmond Washington. It has the 281ci supercharged V8 engine and a manual transmission. Steve shares, "Purchased the car in October 2016 in Kenosha WI and shipped to Washington. Signed by Steve Saleen in 2017 the same weekend as the Mustangs Northwest Ride N Drive where she got to see some track time. Apparently, only 7 Legend Lime Saleens were made. People either love or hate the color. She was decoration inside the Lynnwood Convention center for the Mustangs Northwest 2016 annual banquet and car of the month for their magazine August 2017."
