Saleen Mustang
The 1998 Saleen Mustang received new rocker panel striping design and a new SSC hatchback model. Standard equipment included a top-shelf Pioneer KEH 6050 AM/FM cassette & BP 850 graphic equalizer audio system, 225/50VR-16 General XP-200V tires, Monroe stocks, Saleen style aerodynamic body kit, 170mph speedometer, Hurst shifter, articulated FloFit sport seats, special Momo steering wheel, and even a Saleen Mustang jacket to wear. Crystal White 1998 Mustang Saleen S281 convertible owned by Dave Tremelling from Hooper, Utah. It has the 4.6L V8 engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. Check out the Sportster tonneau cover. It makes the car into a two seater. Dave adds, "The 5-speed manual transmission is fun to drive. It is signed by Steve Saleen under the trunk lid. Number 68 of 208 Saleens produced in 1998. Garaged and has less than 14,000 original miles. I am the second owner, purchased by me in 2000."

Black 1998 Mustang Saleen S-281 coupe serial number 98-0072. This one was Saleen factory modified from a Mustang GT. It has the Saleen body kit and graphics as well as a 4.6L engine with a supercharger added. The 1998 S-281 didn't come from the Saleen with a supercharger. Only the Saleen S-351, SR, and SA-15 came with the supercharger in 1998.

Chrome Yellow 1998 Mustang Saleen S-281 Cobra coupe with bright yellow Saleen wheels. It is Saleen factory serial number 49. This Saleen has the 330hp DOHC SVT engine, 5-speed manual transmission, 3.55 rear, a Saleen factory roll bar, Racecraft suspensions and big 18-inch Saleen wheels.

Crystal White 1998 Mustang Saleen S-281 coupe with a black interior and black Saleen stripes. This one has the 4.6L 220hp engine. It was converted from at GT at the Saleen factory - ID# 033.

Silver 1998 Mustang Saleen S-351 coupe with the massive 5.8 liter (351 cubic inch) V8 supercharged engine. Factory Saleen ID number 29. Can you believe this car has 510 horsepower! This is a pretty rare car. Only 22 of the S-351 Saleens were built in 1998.

1998, Chrome Yellow, , convertible
Only 10 of these Chrome Yellow 1998 Mustang Saleen SA-15 convertibles were built. This is a 15th Saleen Anniversary model, all of which came in yellow and convertibles. Not seen in this view is the wide black hood stripe with white outline. The yellow wheels and custom SA-15 interior is also standard on this special Saleen model. This SA-15 was at the 2010 Mustang Club of America Grand Nationals held outside of Seattle in Bellevue, Washington.

This Bright Atlantic Blue 1998 Saleen S281 Mustang Cobra convertible was a the Port Angeles car show. This Saleen S281 has a light bar and hard Speedster top cover. In the background is the Port Angeles ferry which goes to Victoria BC Canada.
