Saleen Mustang
The 1986 Saleen Mustang received a few new items: 16-inch wheels, newly styled front air dam and decklid spoiler, Hurst shifter, new three spoke steering wheel, GT bucket seats, Koni adjustable rear shocks, Kenwood stereo, and a left foot dead pedal. Mostly Mustang LX hatchbacks were converted, but eleven LX convertibles also received the Saleen conversion. See our 1986 Saleen Data Explorer for more information.

Black 1986 Mustang Saleen fastback owned by Mike Charles from Grove City, Ohio. Mike did a complete restoration on this car. It took him two years. This was our featured Attitude Of The Week photo for the week starting November 29, 2009. This car still has it's original 302ci V8 under the hood. Only 201 Saleens we produced in 1986. Most of them, 190, were hatchbacks. They only came in black, red, white, and blue.

Options include; a 302ci fuel injection engine, 5-speed T5 manual transmission, 3.08 Traction lock 8.8-inch rear-end, power rack & pinion steering, power disc brakes, air conditioning, in-dash Saleen tach & gauges, tilt steering wheel, power windows, power door locks, map light, Saleen Autosport Racecraft suspension, Saleen Autosport body kit, Saleen 16-inch aluminum wheels with Saleen wheel centers, Kenwood stereo system, rear cargo shade, California emissions, console with warning module, electronic digital clock, rear window defroster, tinted glass, light and convenience group, and articulated sport seats.

This is an White 1986 Mustang Saleen hatchback. It's a Saleen factory conversion ID number 22. It is painted in a pearlescent white (re-paint). It has three stripes along its ground effects in three shades of blue. Only 201 Saleens were factory built in 1986. They came in red, white, blue, and black.
