This is a 1966 Mustang GT white vinyl hardtop with special order Sapphire Blue exterior paint with blue pony interior and an A-code 289ci 4-barrel V8 engine. Sapphire blue was a standard color for the 1966 Shelby Mustang and 1966 Ford Thunderbird, but not the standard 1966 Mustang or Mustang GT. We have several examples of this special order color on other Mustangs. This car has been restored although it only has 20K miles on it.

- What letter is listed for the color code on your door data plate? I have the same color and my data plate color is blank, no letter. [Editor: 1966 Sapphire Blue is code G for a Shelby GT350, for a standard Mustang the door data tag would most likely be blank, its Ford manufacturing code M1905A.]/li>

- I also have a sapphire blue 66, special order paint. Buck tag line 3 says 65B SP. PAINT 62 (blue/wht pony), line 4 says WL MX7001168. I have found that 1168 was used by 1959 TBirds - Baltic Blue. My door tag is also blank for the color./li>
