(from page 1 of the 1989 Collection) This Almond 1989 Mustang LX hatchback is owned by James and Lisa Gram of Washington and was our Attitude Of The Week for the week starting August 1, 2010. I saw this unusual almond-yellow factory painted color from a long distance away at the 2010 Mustang Round-up car show in Bellevue, Washington. Lisa says its been a great car and drives it every day to work.

(from page 1 of the 1989 Collection) Rear right view of James and Lisa's almond-yellow 1989 Mustang LX hatchback. This car is an everyday driver, so its not perfect; but it is still a very good looking car. You can see a bit of the yellow coming through on the rear bumper. All the original front and rear bumpers were molded with a yellow fiberglass material, so if you see this color under the paint, its a sign that the bumpers are original.

(from page 3 of the 1989 Collection) Gary sends us these photos of his Medium Shadow Blue 1989 LX 5.0L Sport Mustang hatchback just before he sold it. 1989 was the first year for the LX 5.0L Sport special edition which included many of the GT options, including the 5.0L V8 engine, on the base level Mustang body. This special edition was offered from 1989 through 1993. The 1989 Mustang sales brochure says, For 1989, Mustang LX has an added twist - the LX 5.0L Sport. It comes with the awesome performance of the 5.0L GT engine and the taut handling of the GT suspension all wrapped up in the smooth styling of the LX. And it's available in 2-door hatchback, 2-door sedan, and convertible models The standard transmission is the 5-speed manual or you can opt for the convenience of the automatic overdrive transmission. The suspension system is the same as that used for the GT. Gas-pressured front structs and rear Quadra-shock set-up to give a trim, performance ride. Quick 14.7:1 constant ratio power rack-and-pinion steering. Traction-Lok axle and performance radials with 10-hole cast aluminum wheels are also part of the package. Hatchback and convertible models include articulated front bucket seats. The adjustable features of these seats include reclining backs, seat cushion side bolsters, under-thigh support and power lumbar support. Low back buckets are included with the 2-door sedan model.
