There is that 305hp 4.6 liter Dual Overhead Cam V8 engine. Ford only offered it in the Mach 1 Mustang. See that shaker hood scoop on top. When the hood is closed, you can see it shake as the engine revs up.

This is the big 4.6L engine usually puts out 390hp with the stock supercharger. This one puts out 570hp with the Whipple-Ford Racing W140ax twin screw supercharger and 60lb injectors.

Cobra's come with a 4.6L V8 DOHC Supercharged engine. This one has been modified with an S&B 10-inch cone air filter and a SprayItRacing MAF adapter.

Under the hood is a modified 4.6L Cobra Supercharged engine. The stock supercharger was removed for a polished Stiegemeier ported supercharger. It also has a polished Accufab throttle body and plenum, black powder coated 2.8 Steeda pulley and a Redfire colored JLT cold air intake. This baby has Dyno tested at 520hp with 530 ft-lbs of torque. Stock Cobras are rated at 390hp and 390 ft-lbs.

The S281 has the base level 4.6L 290hp V8. The Saleen ID tag can be seen on the firewall off to the right. It contains the date built, model number, saleen serial number (365 in this case) and part of the original body VIN.
