It took a few years and now we have a project car. She sure draws a lot of attention being the only purple pony around. There will be no major modifications till the body is back to its original luster."

Ian says, I imported my car fro Japan 3 years ago.It was a Japan export model and was built in Dearborn. Only traveled 41000 km when I got it. Totally original condition, no rust and sporting original Mustang diamond cut alloy wheels.

(from page 4 of the 1997 Collection) Rio Red 1997 Mustang Saleen supercharged Speedster convertible owned by Christopher Moore from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Saleen serial number is #83B. Christopher tells us more, "This Mustang is a former Budget Rental car. Saleen signed a deal with the rental company to produce a very limited number of Saleens in 1997 and 1998. 88 were produced in '97 while only 30 were in 1998. I bought mine in fall of 1998 and she's a part of the family now. I had a bad episode with NOS one night and toasted the motor. I since have bought a brand new block bored .030 over, brand new trick flow intake and heads, Vortech SQ supercharger, Comp Cams 278ah, forged internals, methanol injection, aluminum driveshaft, Fluidyne radiator, 3.73g. suspension upgrades, and few more upgrades. Everything has been handled by Bud Anderson (engine builderinstaller)."

(from page 7 of the 1997 Collection) This is a great custom 1997 Roush Mustang Stage 1 sold at Barrett Jackson. 1997 was the first year Roush Performance did the modifications themselves to the Mustang rather than only dealers and authorized third parties. The Stage 1 offered mainly appearance upgrades but this one received additional upgrades: chip upgrade, performance gauges inside, bored engine, ring and crank upgrades, billet rod upgrades, and performance headers and valve job.
