Barry writes, Purchased 14 months ago for $1800, this 100% rust free base option V8 automatic was just screaming to be customized. Like all my cars, I did all the body modifications and striping myself. Turning it into a Cobra clone was easy thanks to Mustangs Unlimited Mustang II parts. Searches on E Bay have also helped me to add a 600cfm Holley, dual plane manifold and almost new Black Jack headers for the near stock 302. The car has received several trophies in both Mustang classes and Street Car at local shows and is the only registered Mustang II fastback in Las Vegas at this time. Barry also modified a 2005 Mustang V6.

It was our featured Attitude Of The Week photo for 11-9-08. This car has a set of late model wheels with spinners. Actually, 2005 Mustang 16x7 inch wheels with 2-inch spacers. The color is Sorrel Green - 3 coats of base color and 4 coats of clear. It's original color was a yellow gold. Paul tells us more, "I bought this car three years ago and completely rebuilt it. It was repainted by myself in a friend's garage. My late father was co-owner of the Ford Dealership in which the vehicle was originally sold. He would have ordered the car for stock inventory. I have also met the original owner of the car. He approached me at a car show and stated he had been looking for the car. He brought his wife back to see it as he had proposed to her in that car. The car has a 4-speed in it now but I have a T-5 ready to go in."

The car has the Limited Edition Special Value Package that gave you a hood ornament, body side moldings, pin stripes, plaid Emerald green cloth interior inserts, and deluxe wheel covers. I've kept the factory wheels and covers. I'm running 14x7 aftermarket wheels on the car now." Bobby has a large collection of Mustang IIs.

The T-Top was only available on the hatchback model. The ad appeals to those who missed the convertible body style. It says, "A flame went out when old-style convertibles died. But now I'm all lit up again."

My Father (Doug) had been into car shows and got me interested. LOL when he said, 'I found you a Mustang, lets go look at it.' When we drove up he said, 'There it is.' I said, 'Where?' He said, 'There.' I saw the car and I said, 'No, that is not a Mustang. That is a POS! Where is the pony?' He said, 'On the front and the back.' I looked and said, 'Oh, Mustang II.' It is all original."

This Cobra has a 305ci V8 engine and an automatic transmission. The owner says, "I have always been a Ford girl, but this baby gets quite the looks. I am restoring the car this winter, as needs new paint job. As soon as I got her I purchased a Marti Report and came to find out that it is a 1-of-88 with this trim package for the Cobra II for 1977! - Polar white exterior paint, white with Red interior trim colour, and it had only an AM radio that still works. It was built 09/03/1976, so it's an early Motortown conversion Cobra II. I'm always looking for info regarding the Motortown conversion process before Ford took the Cobra II package in-house; it's a special part of Cobra II history!"

5 of 5 mustang attitude5 of 5 mustang attitude5 of 5 mustang attitude5 of 5 mustang attitude5 of 5 mustang attitude (from page 6 of the 1977 Collection) Black 1977 Mustang II Cobra II hatchback owned by Mike from Elgin, Illinois, This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting September 22, 2013. It has a 302ci V8 and an automatic transmission. Mike tells us, "I graduated from high school in 1977 and the only two cars that I wanted for my first new car was a Cobra II or a Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am (black and gold of course!). My Dad wouldn't sign a loan for either one (despite our family's fondness for Fords) but he did decide to sign a loan for me to get a 1978 Chevette! Later in life I did buy a triple-black 2000 Mustang GT convertible, which I enjoyed for a number of years. When I saw this Cobra II on ebay three years ago, I threw in a low-ball bid that didn't meet the seller's reserve. I told my wife that we didn't have to worry about getting the car since it didn't meet the auction's reserve, so off to Alaska we went for vacation. Lo and behold, I got an email congratulating me on being the winning bidder for that 1977 Cobra II! I had to tell my wife during our vacation that the car I wasn't supposed to get was now ours, and that I had to coordinate its purchase and pickup from Arkansas. Fortunately a friend of mine lived near the seller, paid for my Cobra II and had a car trailer to pick it up and deliver it to my house, so the car was waiting for me when I got home. Upon seeing the car my wife told me I needed to decide if I was going to keep the Mustang II or a 2000 Corvette that we owned at the time. One look at the Cobra II and a rush of emotions from high school came back and the Corvette was promptly sold a few weeks later. I found that this Cobra II was first sold in Texas and then driven to California where the previous owner bought it and brought it back to Illinois for restoration. I've been working on completing the restoration he had started, and this past winter I tore out the interior, restored all of the panels, replaced the dash (it had been cut apart to mount different radios over the years), and repaired various other items to get it back on the road for the car show season. I purchased a Marti Report and came to find out that it is a 1-of-1 Cobra II for 1977! Not surprising that it's fairly well loaded - except for A/C (Really? Not ordered for an all-black car sold in Texas?) and it had only an AM radio. It was built 12/76, so it's an early 'Motortown conversion Cobra II .' I'm always looking for info regarding the Motortown conversion process before Ford took the Cobra II package in-house; it's a special part of Cobra II history!"

This Mustang II has a 302ci V8 engine and an automatic transmission. It's our featured Attitude Of The Week starting the week of January 4, 2015. Dale shares this story, "My uncle bought this Mach I new in 1977. I bought it from him in 1985-86. I was T-boned in the drivers door in 1989 and it spent the next 25 years in my Father's barn. Apparently, my Father has been working on the restoration for a while now and surprised me with these photos for Christmas 2014. It is all factory original colors, etc. The only modification was the addition of a tape deck back in the 80s. The only thing I am going to do to it is add some white letter tires. I hope to get home to drive it soon."
