(8 photos of a 1977 Black Mustang Cobra II Hatchback) Black 1977 Mustang II with Cobra II package, owned by Mike Baker, from Elgin, Illinois. He just purchased it off eBay! It has a 302ci V8 engine and an automatic transmission. Like in 1976, the 1977 Cobra came in white with blue stripes, blue with white stripes, or black with gold stripes. New in 1977 the Cobra could come with white with red stripes and white with green stripes. This is an early 1977 Cobra where the lettering is low on the door, later in the year they were higher up. Cobras came with vertical-style quarter-window louvers, rear-window horizontal louvers, sport mirrors, facing hood scoop and rear spoiler.

"Growing up, my Dad had always wanted to purchase a Mustang. He had taken early retirement at 60 years old and seriously started looking at a Mustang as his next car of choice. He looked at many but the little red Mustang II caught his eye and he convinced my Mom that the little red girl was the one. He couldn't wait to call me and tell me that he had purchased it. Dad came over to my apartment, picked me up and took me over to the house to see her. My Dad loved his new car but didn't have an opportunity to drive it for very long as he had a stroke and couldn't drive any more. When ever he had to go to the doctor, I made sure to take him in his red jewel. Although he
couldn't drive he would have an opportunity to be in it. He never regained his health and before he passed away he signed his very special car to me. I drove my Dad's car every day to work until three years ago until she was hurting for a lot more TLC than I could continue to give her. My husband promised to restore her for me and I must admit that I wasn't totally convinced that he would do it as it was a large undertaking. I only expected for him to get the car running again, but as you can see he has gone far beyond that and restored her back to original condition. The car I loved driving for many years that held tremendous amount of sentimental value for me, is back on the road again and looking and running pretty sweet. I'm sure my Dad would have been pretty proud of how she looks."

Purchased 14 months ago for $1800, this 100% rust free base option V8 automatic was just screaming to be customized. Like all my cars, I did all the body modifications and striping myself. Turning it into a Cobra clone was easy thanks to Mustangs Unlimited Mustang II parts. Searches on E Bay have also helped me to add a 600cfm Holley, dual plane manifold and almost new Black Jack headers for the near stock 302. The car has received several trophies in both Mustang classes and Street Car at local shows and is the only registered Mustang II fastback in Las
Vegas at this time. Barry also modified a
2005 Mustang V6.
(7 photos of a 1977 Medium Gold (Golden Glow) Mustang Ghia Coupe) Medium Gold metallic (also known as Golden Glow) 1977 Mustang with Ghia Luxury Group and the largest Mustang engine offered in 1977, the 134 hp (at 4000 rpm), 302 cubic inch, 5.0 liter, 2 barrel V8 engine. The Ghia Luxury Group included half vinyl roof, hood striping, bodyside moldings, velour cloth interior color-keyed sun visors and headliner, and center console. Ghia was a group of Italian designers which Ford acquired a controlling interest in 1970 who designed the Mustang II models which started in 1974. This car has aftermarket wheels.

Attitude Of The Week photo for 11-9-08. This car has a set of late model wheels with spinners. Actually, 2005 Mustang 16x7 inch wheels with 2-inch spacers. The color is Sorrel Green - 3 coats of base color and 4 coats of clear. It's original color was a yellow gold. Paul tells us more,
"I bought this car three years ago and completely rebuilt it. It was repainted by myself in a friend's garage. My late father was co-owner of the Ford Dealership in which the vehicle was originally sold. He would have ordered the car for stock inventory. I have also met the original owner of the car. He approached me at a car show and stated he had been looking for the car. He brought his wife back to see it as he had proposed to her in that car. The car has a 4-speed in it now but I have a T-5 ready to go in."

"I had just moved to Michigan from Texas. My Father (Doug) had been into car shows and got me interested. LOL when he said, 'I found you a Mustang, lets go look at it.' When we drove up he said, 'There it is.' I said, 'Where?' He said, 'There.' I saw the car and I said, 'No, that is not a Mustang. That is a POS! Where is the pony?' He said, 'On the front
and the back.' I looked and said, 'Oh, Mustang II.' It is all original."

This combination of white with blue stripes was also available in 1976 but new to 1977 was white with red and white with green stripes.

"I have always been a Ford girl, but this baby gets quite the looks. I am restoring the car this winter, as needs new paint job. As soon as I got her I purchased a Marti Report and came to find out that it is a 1-of-88 with this trim package for the Cobra II for 1977! - Polar white exterior paint, white with Red interior trim colour, and it had only an AM radio that still works. It was built 09/03/1976, so it's an early Motortown conversion Cobra II. I'm always looking for info regarding the Motortown conversion process before Ford took the Cobra II package in-house; it's a special part of Cobra II history!"
