What's in the trunk? Not much. It has a full size spare tire. Check out how the rear decklid spoiler is mounted. One layer of the trunk is cut into so that the nuts can snug up right to the top trunk metal layer. If there wasn't a hole the second layer, the outside layer would deflect when tightening up the nuts.
