(from page 2 of the 1967 Collection) This is a rare 1967 Mustang Ski Country Special hardtop owned by Frank Recupero from Okhurst, California. Frank says, I found this special ordered Mustang Ski Country Special on cars.com. I had been looking for a decent 289 Mustang for about a year and found this in my back yard the next town over Coarsegold, California. Owned it for one year and 6 months, I got curious and ran the VIN#. It kept coming up special ordered, so I got more curious and ordered a Marti Report. The Marti Report solved the special order, it was something I never knew existed. What's a Ski Country Special? I did some more research and I'm very happy I did. This is 1 of 247 Ski Country Specials produced according to the Marti Report. I did very little mods. I had painted black stripes and new rims and dual exhaust on it. The rest of the car is stock. I also recovered the original badge for this model. I called the original owner up and asked her what was so special about the car; and she said her dad ordered it as a special model and there was some kind of badge that went on the decklid that was never put back on the car after one repaint. The owner asked me if I wanted the badge and I said sure; and now it's on the rear decklid where the dealer installed it in 1967.

(from page 2 of the 1967 Collection) The 1967 Mustang Ski Country Special hardtop which featured ski racks, snow tires, equalock rear axle, coffee bar and a Ski Country Special hood medallion. The Ski Country Special was a winter promotion in Colorado which complemented the summer High Country Special. Original options on this car included a black vinyl roof, automatic transmission, limited slip differential (for driving in the snow and ice), 14 x 7.35 inch 4-Ply rated tires (snow tires), white Rayon sidewall tires, wheel covers, rear trunk-top luggage rack (ski rack), power steering, 8 track AM radio, Exterior Decor Group, Interior Decor Group, tinted glass, and a heavy duty battery. Original color selections included Aspen Red, Vail Blue, Winter Park Turquoise, Loveland Green, or Breckenridge Yellow. This car was originally Aspen Red. Frank adds, According to the Marti Report my car was painted orange, I have not found a color chip on the Aspen Red so it's hard to say that this orange is Aspen Red. The Marti Report states special paint and I got in-touch with the owner and they said this was the color they ordered the Ski Country Special in. So we at MustangAttitude will call it Aspen Red until we are proven wrong.

(from page 4 of the 1967 Collection) This is an original Purple Metallic 1967 Mustang hardtop owned by Curly Long from Indiana. It was our featured Attitude Of The Week starting 10-5-08. Curly purchased the car from its second owner in 2004 - who knew little about the car's history. Curly sent a sample of the original paint to Marti Autoworks who provided him with the color and color code - Purple Metallic, color code M3203-A. Curly adds, "I've talked to the folks at Marti Autoworks about the car and they are aware of only one other '67 Mustang painted Purple Metallic (it is in Iowa). The car was ordered into Chicago and was an 'Order Type: Fleet". I am currently working with the Village Manager in Lombard, Illinois concerning the car. They are called 'Lilac Town' and have or had a fleet of purple cars. We are trying to determine if my car was ever a part of their fleet or the personal car of one of the city officials." If you can offer Curly any assistance with the origins of his car, please comment below.

(from page 4 of the 1967 Collection) Playboy Pink 1967 Mustang Convertible. Playboy Pink was a special order color for 1967. Another 1967 pink was Dusk Rose. The door data tag will indicate a S for 1967 Dusk Rose or a blank or number code for Playboy Pink. See our 1967 Mustang Data Explorer for more information. 1967 Playboy Pink Mustangs should not be confused with the Playboy Pink Mustang given to Playboy playmate of the year in 1964.

(from page 6 of the 1967 Collection) Check out this amazingly restored Silver Frost 1967 Shelby GT350 Mustang fastback owned by Emmanuel Theux of Monte-Carlo, Monaco. There are several other darker gray 1967 Shelbys out there but this is the color and year that inspired the Eleanor Shelby used in the Nicolas Cage, 2000 movie Gone in 60 seconds which is also a light gray, but more accurately Eleanor Pepper Gray Dupont 44490. There is much confusion on what 1967 Shelby color code 6 for Medium Gray is. Marti confirmed with Emmanuel that over the years Ford color code M1901 Silver Frost had been mistaken for the correct Ford color code M1900 Thunderbird Charcoal Gray. Emmanuel's 67 GT350 was our Attitude Of The Week for May 3rd, 2009. Emmanuel has owned many Mustangs. Check them out by clicking here.

(from page 6 of the 1967 Collection) This car started off as a promotional car at radio station WHOO out of Orlando, Florida. It was sold to someone in California, then purchased in 2003 to be restored. Now Emmanuel has it in Monaco.
