(9 photos of a 1987 White Mustang SSP Coupe) Check this one out. It's a 1987 Mustang LX notchback factory police car. This Mustang has the Special Service Package (SSP) from Ford. It was offered on the Mustang from 1982 through 1993. The package was only offered on the LX notchback with a 5.0L V8 engine. Special package features included; 0-140mph calibrated speedometer, metal disc brake rotor shields, front lower radiator air deflector, reinforced front floor pans, heavy-duty seats, heavy-duty Kevlar drive belt, heavy-duty belt tensioner, wheel ornaments, conventional spare tire, hood sound absorber delete, header hose inlet restrictor, Police special transistorized voltage regulator, and 15x7" heavy-duty steel wheels. The package included; aircraft type heater and radiator hose clamps, engine oil cooler, external transmission oil cooler, front wired speakers, full wheel covers, inoperative door courtesy light switches, radio noise suppression, relocated remote decklid release, single key locking system, and delete paint stripes.

SSP stands for Special Service Package - which is a factory optioned Police Car. The package was offered from 1982 through 1993. Some of the options included; "Million mile" certified speedometer, Unity spot light, single key lock system, relocated deck lid switch, large dome lamp, heavy duty seats, reinforced floor pan plates, Motorcraft 130amp Alternator, and external oil/water cooler. This one was used by the Florida Highway Patrol till 1995. It has been restored.

The Special Service Package was available on the 1982 through 1993 Mustangs. It included: 5.0L HO V8 engine (sequential multi-port injection, forged pistons, roller cam, Hypereutectic pistons, engine oil cooler, aircraft-type silicone radiator hoses and clamps), 5-speed manual or 4-speed Automatic OverDrive (AOD) transmission, auto transmission fluid cooler, power disc front / drum rear brakes with rotor shields, stainless steel factory headers, dual exhaust system with stainless tips, 15.4 gallon fuel tank, heavy duty stabilizer bars, full instrumentation with in-dash tachometer, 130 and 135 amp heavy duty alternators, two-piece VASCAR speedometer cable, certified calibrated speedometer 0-140 and 0-160 mph, non-operational courtesy lights for safety, relocated rear deck release, single key locking doors and trunk, reinforced floor pans, full-size spare tire, and 15" X 7" cast aluminum wheels.
