(5 photos of a 1967 White Mustang Indy Pacesetter Hardtop) Have you ever seen one of these? Have you ever heard of the Indy Pacesetter Special? It was produced to honor the Indy 500 race, without being an official Indy pacecar. These special dual stripes were unique to the limited edition model. According to the owner, Fran, these stripes have been painted on, we think the original were reflective tape stripes. Features of this special included Scotchlite (reflective) stripes (possibly blue over black dual stripes), special rear grille (white taillight panel with blue stripes as shown here), sporty louvered hood with integrated turn signals, sport tires with the optional V8, bucket seats, blue interior vinyl trim, full carpeting, and full wheel covers with whitewall tires. We believe they all came in Wimbledon White exterior paint. Fran tell us the Marti Report on his car states that 324 were ordered by Allen County Motors of Fort Wayne, Indiana. We've found many newspaper advertisements about the sale of this car in 1967.

(5 photos of a 1967 Mustang Indy Pacesetter Advertisement) This is an advertisement we found for the 1967 limited edition Indy Pacesetter special Mustang. This limited edition Mustang was sold only in the Indiana area and came with Scotchlite (reflective) stripes, special rear grille (white taillight panel with blue pin stripes), sporty louvered hood with integrated turn signals, sport tires with the optional V8, bucket seats, blue interior vinyl trim, full carpeting, and full wheel covers with whitewall tires. We believe they all came in Wimbledon White exterior paint. This ad was placed by Bathien Ford in the May 21st, 1967 edition of the Kokomo Tribune or Kokomo, Indiana. We have found many newspaper advertisements in the Indiana for the Indy Pacesetter, all in May, with the earliest one being May 1st, 1967. The most common ad was the 2nd and fourth in this grouping. We also found the general GM and Ford pacesetter sales for April and May of 1967. Indiana dealers we found with advertisements include: Banthien Ford of Kokomo, Don Ross Motors of Tipton, Johnson Ford of Logansport, Fred Welker Ford of Anderson, Gutwein Motors of Monon, and Dick Green Motors of Cambridge City. According to a Marti Report on an owner's Indy Pacesetter, 324 where order by Allen County Motors of Fort Wayne, Indiana. We think all the dealers in the area then got them from Allen Motors.
